epilogue

"Thank you so much!" Luke says into the microphone. It was three months after Luke and Katie met. Katie toured with the boys. It was also the end of the last show of the tour. "We have been," Luke pauses and smiles at Katie, feeling a surge of happiness when she smiles back. "5 Seconds Of Summer!" 

The lights go out and the boys run out offstage. Katie runs over to the backstage area and searches for the guys. She finds them cheering and jumping around, smiling from ear to ear. Luke notices Katie and turns around.

"That show was probably the best show you put on!" Katie exclaims, wrapping her arms around Luke. Ashton, Calum, and Michael are watching, but Luke and Katie don't seem to notice. They seem to be lost in each other. 

"The second best," Luke says.

"What was the actual best, then?" Katie says, leaning in slightly. 

"The first one where you sang a lot of She Looks So Perfect." He leans his forehead on hers, smiling. "That will forever be my favorite show." Katie smiles and Luke glances at her lips. 

They haven't kissed but one other time during the entire tour, and that shouldn't even count. They were basically pushed into it. They both want to kiss each other, but they're both afraid of what it will lead to. No, not sex. What if they both tell each other how they really feel? No body is ready for that. But Luke leans in a little more, anyway. 

His eyes linger on her light pink lips. She blushes and puts a hand on his face, causing him to press his lips to hers. He crushes his arms around her as her hands tangle in his hair. 

The other three boys whistle and cheer, but the couple doesn't notice. They've turned what should have been a simple peck, into a serious make out session. 

Katie's hands have caused most of Luke's hair to flatten by now, and Luke has wrinkled Katie's poor shirt. When they pull away, Katie can't even contain her smile. 

"I love you," Luke whispers. Both of their eyes widen and Katie gasps. "I-I mean-" 

Katie cuts him off by kissing him again. "I love you too, you dork." She smiles and so does Luke. 

Luke kisses her and he feels like a weight was lifted off his shoulders. He's said it. And she said it back.

"Hey," Luke says, ignoring the boys, who're leaving.

"Hi," Katie responds, her smile never leaving her face. 

"Maybe hi can be our always?" Luke says, winking at Katie. Katie laughs.

"Maybe. But probably not." She giggles and kisses him again. 

then they makeout again and have children on the floor.
