Today already started off terrible.

I was kind of excited when I woke up this morning considering it was the first day of school, but when I got on my zooms, 3/4 classes of the day already wanted to start with work. But that's what I get for taking AP classes, right?

Then, after school, I was walking down the stairs and wasn't paying attention, so I tripped and somehow managed not to break anything, but I did have a few bruises.

After that, there was a huge crack of thunder, which hasn't stopped for the last hour, and just a few minutes ago, rain had started. That's super rare for California, and the only reason for it must've been to fit my mood. Thanks I guess.

Last but not least, I'm not really sure why, but I was just having a really bad anxiety day. I'm not sure if you've ever had anxiety, but sometimes it comes out of nowhere without any triggers.

Now on top of all of this happening, Blake hasn't answered my texts today, which is really weird considering he's always the one to text me first. But I didn't want to seem clingy, so I backed off after the second text.

So here I was, sitting in my room all alone, listening to one direction of course, while the sky outside turned grey and left my room slightly dark.

Sure, it was a little bit dramatic, but I had nothing else to do.

Nothing until my phone started ringing.

I picked it up and answered it, brining it right to my ear, "Hello?"

"Bailey, I need your help," Noah's rushed voice said through the phone, instantly making me sit up in bed, "Noah, is everything okay?"

Noah must've been in some trouble if he was calling me of all people. I mean, we were friends, but not close enough for me to be the first person he calls when he's in trouble.

"It's Blake."

That was all it took for my heart to start racing and panic to start taking over my body. What the hell was wrong with Blake?

"What's wrong? Is he okay? Where is he?" I asked frantically, getting up from my bed and putting on my white vans. I'm not sure where I was going in this rain, but where ever Noah told me he would be is where I was going.

"That's the thing, I don't know," Noah sighed through the phone, "He was kind of having an off day and he said he was going on a run and left his phone here. An hour passed and then it started raining, and now I'm scared for him."

I closed my eyes, thinking about the time that he took me on a run. We went to this small park that had a bunch of different trails to run, but we both agreed that the park benches next to all of the trees were beautiful. But either way, that was the only place Blake went for a run because it was so peaceful.

"I think I know where he is," I said to Noah and he was about to say something but I cut him off, "I'll text you when I find him."

I quickly told my parents it was an emergency and left the house, running to my car to try and not get soaked. I drove over to the park as quick as I could without putting myself in danger cause of the rain, and got there within 10 minutes.

I left my phone in the car and closed the door, doing a light jog towards the center of the park. The rain was coming down a lot heavier so I had to put my hand above my eyes and squint out to see farther in front of me.

When I saw a little blob sitting on the park bench in the rain, I instantly knew it was him. Especially considering he had bleach blonde hair.

I ran towards him and when I was finally close enough, his head popped up and he looked at me confused, "Bails?"
