The next morning I woke up with a happy smile on my face. Today was my parent's 20 year anniversary, and I almost felt even more excited then.

Even with my extreemly hard surface, believe it or not, I was a hopeless romantic. From sappy old love stories to new netflix romance dramas, I was a sucker to it all. But, nothing beat my parents story for me.

A young, handsome (or so my dad says), 20 year old man in love with an 18 year old woman who was studying Fashion while he was studying to be a surgeon. They both came from middle class families, not exacrtly having a lot of money, but enough to make a living. He lived in New York his whole life while she had moved there from Canada. they met when he spilled coffee on her accidentally at a coffee shop, the both of them running late for their jobs. He was able to convince her for a coffee some other time, and it was fate.

A year later, he proposed to her. She thought it was too early at first, but he convinced her that he would feel this way for the rest of his life, so why wait to start the rest of her life? She agreed and the two of them got married. They popped out a baby girl almost exactly 9 months from their wedding, starting the life of their dreams- him a successful surgeon and her a successful person in the fashion industry, being able to balance love and 3 children, all while facing the problems of the world.

It was beyond beautiful.

And I know what you're probably wondering. If I'm such a hopeless romantic, why the hell am I still single?

Well, one thing that I hate about most romance movies is how the girl has to change for the guy to like her. I hate that aspect if romance that the movies always portrays. Unfortunately, those views leave me with expectations that are way too high. At this rate, i'm not finding the 'perfect' one anytime soon, but I'll wait if I get the reward of a movie-like, passionate, and unforgetable love.

After I finished fantasizing about my perfect romance, I got out of bed and went straigh to my brother's room. I grabbed the pillow from the opposite side of his bed and hit him obver the head with it, "Morning Carter. I love you, but get up." I said with a smile as he groaned, rolling over in his bed.

I lifted the pillow again and he quickly sat up, rubbing his eyes, "i'm up, I'm up. What's my job?"

I smiled, putting the pillow down, "That's the spirit. Go get the card and chocolates from the store since you didn't yesterday."

He saluted me, putting on a fake face of determination, "Yes M'am, copy that!"

I let out a small laugh. I think that my favorite thing about Carter was that he would never let me down. Even if I was going to the ends of the Earth to bother him, his loyalty never faded. He knew how perfect I had always tried to make this day, and never failed to be a good sport about it. I'm glad that he had such an admirable trait at the young age of 15, almost 16.

"I'll venmo you $40for your uber and their gifts," I said as I left his room and headed to the bathroom. I grabbed two Advil from the bottle and filled up a quick cup of water from the sink before heading to the battle grounds, or in other words, Serena's room.

I opened the door and entered the princess pink room, heading straight to the blonde mop of hair that was dug under all of the sheets. I placed the advil and the water on her nightstand and prepared myself for a very tricky task- waking up sleeping beauty when she didn't want to be woken.

I moved her shoulder roughly a couple of times, taking a deathly risk. This has sadly resulted in me getting nailed in the eye a few times, so I had to be cautious. "Serena, wake up" I said, causing her to roll over and bury herself even deeper in the sheets.

I shook my head in frustration. This time, I ripped the sheets off of her and shook her a little more violently, "Serena Marie! Get out of bed before I make you face consequences." I said sternly, and she sat up, squinted eyes from the sun peeking through the blinds.
