Jean knew taking you to your room wouldn't be a good idea since you'd been so used to sharing a room with Sasha.

He placed you in his bed before going to get you tea.

You drank it quietly, still sniffling at what had just happened.

Jean was very caring and you were sure he was in just as much pain as you were.

"I really don't know why you became a cadet when you're so fragile." He whispered sitting on the bed next to you.

"I've just kept losing and losing. My family my friends, Annie and now Sasha." Your voice hitched as you mentioned Annie and Sasha's name.

"I know. We all do. We've all lost so much. But losing yourself to grief won't change anything." He said as he laid down under the sheets with you.

"I'll sleep with you tonight." He whispered as he got comfortable on his pillow next to you.

You put the tea on the nightstand next to his bed, getting comfortable as well. It's been a long day and you felt so unbelievably tired. You fell asleep in no time at all.

_______

"Good morning Annie." You held your hand against the crystal.

"We just came back from a fight against your home. I really didn't want to fight them. I didn't want to kill your family and friends." You whispered.

"But they killed sasha." You forced the tears to go away. "I pulled a rifle on the little girl that killed her." You held your head low.

"I almost shot a little girl. What's wrong with me?" You guilt tripped yourself.

"I'm sorry Annie." You whispered.

"I'm going to see that little girl today. She's locked up somewhere nearby. I wish I knew why. Why Sasha of all people." You said as you stood up, looking at Annie.

"I dropped my position as a scout again. That means I can stay with you again. I know that means I won't be able to help you. But I can't keep losing people." You said with a long pause.

"See you later." You said as you lifted your hand from the crystal.

Jean had acknowledged the fact that you were leaving the scouts again. He thought it was the right choice for you. Though.

He was coming with you too see the girl gabi, in case you lost your cool.

You walked with him to the girls' cell as you saw the girl sit in a corner, quietly, rolled into a ball.

"Hey." You said as she looked up at you, instantly looking back down.

"Can i talk to you?" You asked as she scooter closer to the bars, Jean staying close to you to make sure you didn't try to grab her or hurt her.

"Can I ask why." You asked as she tilted her head.

"Sasha. Why'd you kill my friend?" You asked as her eyes widened.

"You killed everyone! My family and friends were killed in that fight! Your one friend was nothing compared to what you did to my home!" She said rather loudly, you about to lose your temper, jean held onto your arms so you couldn't do anything.

You struggled with jean holding you back.

"I DIDNT KILL ANYONE!" You screamed at the girl as she stood back.

"I don't care! You didn't. Your people did! You're a devil! Don't act like we're the one at fault!" She shot back.

"DONT YOU DARE CALL US DEVILS YOU LITTLE SHIT!" You screamed as jean pulled you back.

"Relax." He whispered.

"Was that your only reason? You killed my best friend for revenge?" You asked as gabi looked at you.

"I took one. You people took thousands." She said.

"US?! THOSE DEATHS DONT EVEN COMPARE TO HOW MANY PEOPLE AT OUR HOME WERE KILLED BY TITANS SENT BY YOU RATS!" You screamed at the little girl as jean tightened his grip on you.

"(Y/n), talk. Screaming won't do anything." Jean reminded you as you looked back at the girl.

"So what's the solution here? You'll just hate us for the rest of your life? Your people will continue to kill us and we'll continue to defend ourselves? That's how it's gonna be?" You asked as she didn't say a word.

"I'm done here." You said, pushing yourself out of jeans grip, walking for the door.

_______

Everyday you'd go with jean to the little girls cell. You'd ask her why and try to get answers. You'd try to reason with her.

You realized she was just a little girl. You were still pissed at her. Sasha would never come back. But you knew not you nor gabi were at fault.

After a month, you opened up a lot about Sasha. Telling gabi stories you had about Sasha even if she didn't care.

Gabi ended up telling you about her home and how she grew up.

You still didn't forgive her.

And that's when she escaped. You didn't care enough to go after her. She either survived and made her way home, or got killed in the process. You didn't care either way.

If she survived, good for her. If she died, too bad.

You sat with Annie once again, telling her about what happed with gabi this time. You wondered if Annie knew gabi. If they grew up together or if Annie took care of gabi when she was a baby.
