"Shit." You whispered as you entered the room filled with fresh food. The air smelt amazing and you knew Annie was probably drooling over the chance to eat.

That wasn't the problem though. The reason you said "shit" was because you noticed Jean, Armin and Connie all sitting at a nearby table.

Weren't they supposed to be fighting for their lives??? Why were they here eating fucking lunch?

Your eyes met Connie's as his eyes widened.

Fuck fuck fuck.

You were about to grab Annie and run with her away as fast as possible, but she walked towards Connie as well.

"Annie...." Connie asked as Annie stood quietly.

"We knew you'd be free from the crystal one day." He sighed as you ran up to Annie, in case Connie tried to hurt her.

You knew Connie and the others had no idea why she did such a think four years ago, and you didn't either but you didn't care.

"Don't touch her." You said sternly to Connie as you stood in front of Annie.

"You think I even have the willpower?" He asked as he looked behind you to Annie.

"Are you willing to talk?" He asked as Annie didn't say a word, nor do anything.

"Listen, Okay. Annie isn't going to hurt anyone. Let her be. Please." You asked as you turned back to her, looking into your eyes with an emotionless face.

"We're on your side now!" Jean screamed as he walked towards you.

"Annie. Let's just cooperate. We know about Marley and Eldia. We know about everything. But you're not our enemy. Eren and zeke are." He said as Annie's eyes widened.

"You know zeke?" She asked as jean nodded.

"We know about pieck being the cart, Reiner being the armoured, we know everything. Please let's just work this out." Jean tried to get Annie to cooperate.

You held onto Annie's hand as she moved from behind you to beside you.

"First, let's talk....." Jean said as he motioned to leave the building, you telling him to wait, and buying two cheesed covered breads, handing one to Annie, and her thanking you.

You stayed close to Annie, making sure they weren't going to try any funny business.

You arrived around a campfire away from the village, noticing people sit in a circle.

Before you could see who was there, Annie left your side and ran towards them.

"Reiner." She said as Reiner couldn't look her in the eyes.

"Sit." Is all Reiner said before Annie looked around, noticing that motion was much out of character. But you weren't surprised. She's been stuck in a crystal for four years not knowing if her closest friends were alive or dead.

The circle was dead silent as you sat next to Annie.

"Where's bertholdt?" She asked Reiner as Reiner gritted his teeth.

Annie stayed quiet, taking a hint from reiners reaction to the question.

You held her hand as she held her head low.

"Okay down to buisness." Hanji sat on the opposite side of the circle with bandages covering their face.

"Floch and the yeagerists beat us to the flying boat. We have no choice but to kill them." Hanji said as Annie tilted her head.

"Flying boats is new weapon and escape tech." You whispered as she nodded.

The conversation continued as a plan was made. You weren't included in the plan considering you were no longer apart of Levi's squad nor capable of fighting after such a long time of not fighting.

But you didn't care about how long you've been without fighting or not, you knew you had to fight alongside Annie wherever she went.

"Commander hanji, please let me come and help. I need to protect Annie!" You begged hanji, who just shook their head.

"You need to stay here." Hanji responded.

You punched yourself internally. Annie was going to fight without you. If she gets hurt it's all your fault.

"Stay here." Annie kisses your forehead before holding onto your face gently, letting it go a second later.

You stayed with captain levi, and another girl, pieck. watching him heal in complete silence and pieck sit with tired eyes as Annie and Reiner went to go fight floch. You hoped Annie was okay to use her titan form. It's been four years since she was in her titan form, who knows what it would do on her body to use it again for the first time.

You could only pray she was safe.

"We have to go to the boat." Pieck said as she called two other names, two younger kids showing up and looking at you.

"Hello." You said as the two looked at you.

"This is Gabi and this is falco." Pieck introduced them to you as you waved your hand.

"Oh I know this one." You said as your eye met gabis. "So you're alive." You said as she nodded.

"Please let's work together." She said as you nodded.

"Okay." You silently said as pieck looked at you, wondering what had happened between you two.

"We have to go to the flying boat and get out of here." She said as she held her hand out.

"I'm the cart titan. You probably already knew that, but I'm telling you again." She said as she looked at the two kids, them quickly moving away.

"I'm going to turn into a titan. Hop on my back with gabi and falco, and help Levi up as well." She said as you nodded.

With that, you moved back and watched pieck bite her thumb, sending an electric light and Loud bang come from the sky. And there was her titan.

You gathered up gabi and falco, helping them up, before pushing Levi up as well, and then climbing up yourself.

"You're all safe?" You asked as the two children nodded.

"Alright pieck were good!" You said as the titan made a grunting sound, beginning to run towards the flying boat.

You met Armin and Connie there, both of them in bad condition.

And then the rest arrived, the person you noticed, and really the only one you cared about was limping towards you, half of her arm covered in blood and looks of pure agony.

"Annie." You ran up to the girl, picking her up in your arms, running into a medical supply room in the boat.

"You're gonna be okay!" You said as you went through drawers of the room that seemed to be the medical room. You found large bandage kits that you ripped open.

"You're gonna be fine annie." You repeated as you wrapped her arm and leg in medical tape.

The blood on your hands was making it hard not to cry, seeing her in pain.

"You're Okay Annie." You leant onto her, pressing your lips onto hers gently as you finished putting the tape on her, stopping the bleeding.

You held her face as her eyes were closed.

"Sleep, I promise you'll be fine." You pulled a chair next to where you had lied her down, and rested your head next to hers.

The boat would take you to a ship like plane, you just having to stay with Annie for the time being, praying there would be no complications.
