It's now Monday May 2nd exactly 18 days till graduation and 25 days till the end of my senior year. I don't know why I'm counting down the days. I don't have my best friend and I'm not going to college anytime soon.
I made the kids take the bus to school today, I decided to just stay home since I only have one final exam left but that's not till next week.
I sat in bed with my knees up to my chest, hugging one of Derek's favorite shirts. I really miss him. If he were here right now we could've been cuddling.
"Derek I miss you..." I said laying down under his favorite blanket.
Damnit what am I going to do without him. The kids are still sad but they're better. I haven't cried yet I should though. I need to get it all out. Maybe I should go to the cemetery and just talk to him.
That's exactly what I did I drove to the cemetery now I'm sitting in top of the fresh grow grass around his headstone.
"It's almost been a month since you died in my arms. Honestly that was the worst day ever. I must admit life got harder once you died. The kids miss you so much. I miss you in school, life in general. I miss your hugs, your cuddles, I miss you. I'm graduating in 18 days but for nothing because I won't have you cheering me on and I'm just staying home. It's starting to rain, I'll come back another time. I love you Derek." I said with tears falling onto my cheeks.
I got back into my car and went to the store to get some food since we are running low on food. I have work after the kids get home.
Later on the day
"Mer we're home" Izzie said
"Hello kids, how was school today?"
"Good! Mer can you come here I want you to meet someone" said Cristina I nodded and went to the door.
"Yeah her boyfriend" Alex said snarky I gave him a playful punch on the arm.
"Yes actually, Meredith this is Owen, Owen this is Meredith."
"Hello Owen"
"Hello Miss. Grey"
"Feel free to call me Meredith" we shook hand and I welcomed him in.
"So Owen are you staying over or are you leaving?"
"Um it's up to Cristina" he said
"Can he stay?"
"That fine with me just keep your bedroom door open"
"Don't worry it'll be open" she chuckled
"Everyone please behave while I'm at work Alex make sure not Cristina and Owen aren't alone in one room" I chuckled and Cristina rolled her eyes.
"The neighbor will be here any minute Alex and Cristina you two are the oldest please make sure the two little ones are safe"
"We will Mer" Alex said. I was off to work.
I got home around one in the morning and the neighbor girl was asleep on the couch.
"Hey I'm home you can go home now here's the money for today thank you"
