Her hand extended out wide allowing snowflakes to drop softly on her small cold hands. She smiled to herself and let out a puff of air. The cloud of her breath flowing from her mouth and into the cold night air. She chuckled to herself and continued forward on the path covered by a thick sheet of snow. A buzzing from her back pocket alerted her so she pulled out her phone to see a new message.

Luna: Hey, Rin you better be staying safe! Just checking up on you and make sure you keep warm. Don't forget the hand warmers I put in your jacket pockets. Love you!

A wide smile took over her face as she read the text from her best friend and roommate. "Always looking out for me." She whispered to herself before tapping her thumbs across the screen to reply.

Rin: I'm safe, no murders yet but the night is still young. Thanks for the hand warmers and I love you too Unnie!

With another small giggle she locked her phone and stuffed it in her back pocket. She focused back on her surroundings; glancing around.

"Alright inspiration, I'm waiting." She looked round and bit at her bottom lip. "Any minute now." Again, she paused and a cold breeze blew through her hair. "Any kind of life changing inspiration would be great right about now." She sighed

"Why!" A strange voice echoed through the park.

Rin froze in place, the sound of the voice causing a shiver to run down her spine. She found herself unconsciously clenching both of her hands into fists. Her gaze followed the sound of the voice to the tree line to her right.

"It came from that way." She whispered taking in a deep and shaky breath. Both of her hands relaxed and she grabbed onto the straps of her grey backpack, shifting it so it sat farther up on her back.

The sound of a harsh sobbing started, furthering Rin's terror. Though another feeling began to creep in and she found that among the terror was curiosity.

"Who is crying, and why?" She couldn't help her curious nature taking over her and she quickly changed direction, heading towards the sound.

The tree line was thick and tight but she saw a path forwards and crawled on. She climbed over one branch and ducked under another. Reaching up she grabbed on tightly to a thick branch above her and heaved herself up. Careful with her foot placement she began climbing through the trees.

Once she ran out of branches to climb on safely, she made her way down, lowering herself back to the ground. Then she ducked and hopped through the trees the rest of the way.

She came upon a clearing with another wide field like the one she had just come from but this time in the middle was a large tree covered in red leaves with branches reaching out in every which direction.

The tree was mostly blocking the moonlight from the area under the tree except for a few beams of shining light that poked out in between tree branches. Under the tree hidden by the darkness of the night was a long wooden bench covered in snow. And on the bench Rin found the source of the noise she was looking for.

"Who is that?" She wondered to herself quietly, as she stealthily creeped towards the person. The closer she came the louder their crying got. She took notice of the harsh cry and knew all too well herself what it was like, the kind of cry that tears its way through you because you had been keeping in for far too long. The kind that as it goes on screams come out in between sobs. But it is also the kind of cry that once you're done leaves you in a sort of peaceful state because you had finally let out every emotion you had denied yourself before.
