"WHAT?!" I shrieked.
I turned around and started to leave the store, a pang of pain overtaking my heart. I was leaving behind my mate, but not for long. I would find him again. I dashed outside and quickly shifted into my wolf once I reached the forests edge.
"Eric what happened?!" I mind-linked him.
"Alpha, they just attacked!"
"Who?"
"Rogues."
Rogues?!
I growled with anger and sped up. When I arrived at the pack house, the scene in front of me made me halt. Bodies of the dead wolves surrounded the green landscape, the crimson red blood staining the ground. As I looked around, I recognized a couple of my men and felt the anger evolve inside my body.
"What the hell happened?!"
Eric, in his black wolf, walked up to me.
"As soon as you left, they attacked," he growled.
I knew this had something to do with that filthy rogue we captured. I stormed down into the cells, and shifted. Not caring about my lack of clothes. I was furious. I stomped towards the last cell where the rogue was and ripped the bars apart, storming in and grabbing him by the throat.
"What did you do," I snarled.
"I didn't do shit!" He managed to say.
His words only angered me and I pressed harder on his throat.
"Don't bullshit me! Your kind just attacked, and what a coincidence. Now start fucking talking!" I yelled.
"I swear, I don't know what your talking about!" He whispered. I stared at his eyes but I could see he wouldn't talk. I sighed and dropped him on the floor. He immediately started to cough.
"Gather up the rogues you captured, and kill them," I said calmly. The rogues eyes widened and he stood up.
"If you spare my friend, I'll talk," he quickly said. I smiled. I knew this wolf was hiding something.
"Which friend?"
"That one," he said, pointing to the cell across from him. I turned around and noticed a small girl, of about 17 years old, her blonde hair dirty, her blue eyes scared. I turned to look at him, and finally noticed the similarity.
"Your friend? Or your sister," I snarled. He only stared at me. I snapped my fingers and two wolves came up to me.
"Alpha."
"Release the girl and place her in the same cell. If she tries anything, kill her," I merely said.
They opened the cell and the girl immediately ran towards her brother, embracing him in a hug. A pang of guilt suddenly rose up in my head, but I shook it aside. I had to protect my pack. I went to the cell, and sat down, across from the rogue.
"What's your name."
"Fabian."
"Okay Fabian, be a nice puppy and tell me what you know."
He sighed. "The only thing I know is that Derek is looking for help to take you down. I know because he asked me and a few other rogues to weaken you. That's why you got attacked today. Because they were direct orders from him."
My hands stared shaking and I could feel my canines sliding out.
"You were paid to come and attack my pack?" I growled. He looked down.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill ALL of you right now," I snarled.
"I don't have a good reason. We did it because we were threatened. If we didn't cooperate, he would go after our families and friends," he said softly. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I felt something hit my side and I opened my eyes looking down. A bag. I opened it and found clothes. That's when I noticed I was completely nude. I looked up.
"Thanks Eric."
"Yeah just... Go change," he muttered. I grabbed the bag and quickly went into a nearby cell, taking out a white sundress that reached just above my knees and my brown gladiator sandals. I left the cell and went back to the rogue, Fabian.
"You do understand, I have to think of what's best for the pack. You were ordered to attack us. Because of you, some of my men died today," I said.
"Cece-"
"Shut up Eric," I growled.
"Alpha-"
"I didn't let you speak, Rogue," I said, snarling the last word. I turned to my nearby wolf, Winston.
"Kill them both," I simply said.
"No!"
I turned around and stared at the She-Wolf who had just spoken.
"Alpha, I can't let you do that," she said softly.
"Are you defending the enemy," I roared.
"Cece, Fabian is Daniela's mate!" Eric blurted.
I gawked at her.
"Is this true?"
She only nodded. I sighed. I couldn't do this to my pack members. I knew that losing a mate had to be the most excruciating pain that anyone could live through. I turned my attention back to the rogue, boring my eyes into his.
"Join the pack, or die. Your choice," I said before leaving the dungeon. I walked back into my house, silently mourning my wolves that fell.
"Alpha Cecilia."
I turned around and saw Daniela. I smiled at her and patted the chair next to me.
"What's up?"
"I just wanna apologize... But thank you as well for sparing my mates life."
"Your a loyal member of this pack Daniela. I'm trying to be a good Alpha to you all..." I trailed off.
"I know and honestly, your doing an amazing job. Especially for a She-Wolf."
"Thanks," I said smiling to her. She smiled back. Eric walked into the room.
"Alpha, what are gonna with the rest of the rogues?"
"Kill them. Bring Fabian and his sister to me."
He nodded and left the kitchen. I sighed. But then lifted my head. My mate! I turned to Daniela.
"I know that I have a duty with my pack, and I need to discuss my stuff with my beta but... Your a girl," I said blushing.
"What can I help you with Alpha?" She said, smiling.
"I found my mate," I whispered.
Her eyes widened. "When?"
"Today, right before the attack."
"Is he atleast cute?" She asked. I giggled.
"Beyond.... But.... He's human," I muttered.
"Human?!"
I nodded. At that precise moment, Fabian and his sister entered the kitchen. I turned to the girl.
"What's your name?"
"Melina," she whispered. I took a step forward and she immediately took a step back. I frowned. Was I that scary? I turned to Eric.
"Lead her to the room next to mine, give her some clothes, and give her something to eat.
"You want me to.. Cook for her?" He asked shocked.
"Oh hell no. Your cooking tastes like shit. Take her out," I said before turning to Fabian.
"I need you to wash up and change. You can take the room across from mine for now. Be ready in 15 minutes," I said before heading up to my room. I needed to go find my mate.
