CECE:

One minute, I was feeling content, happy. I was with the people I cared about. My mate, little Kenneth and Megan. And the next, anger infiltrated my every fucking thought as soon as I heard Jackson in my head.

"Cece."

I stiffened. "What?"

"We found them."

I froze. They found them. The filthy leeches who attacked my mate, who left him for dead three weeks ago.

"Where?" I practically growled.

"Near Brent's house."

I growled ferociously in my head. I could feel my wolf trying to leave my body.

"Cece?"

I jerked my head at the sound of Brent's voice. I stared into his eyes, and I could feel myself relax, his eyes silently soothing me. And then it hit me: he doesn't know about me. He doesn't know anything about me. How was I gonna explain what was going on when I wasn't supposed to know just yet? Jackson had mind linked me, and I couldn't explain that to Brent. Not yet. Quickly, I grabbed my phone, pretending to call Jackson.

"Jackson?"....... Yeah, I'll be there," I said before I pressed a random number, making it seem like I had actually called him.

"Everything okay?" I heard Brent ask me softly. I smiled.

"Yeah."

"Your lying."

Okay what the heck? "What?"

"Your biting your lip."

"And?"

"Aaaand you only do that when your lying," he said sighing. Well, shit. He knew me better that I thought.

"Damn," I whispered.

"Yeah, I know you sweet cheeks. Care to explain what's going on?" He said, a smile on his face. How was I gonna explain to him that my pack had found the vampires who brutally attacked him and left him for dead? I couldn't. It definitely wasn't the right time. I had to make up an excuse. I hated lying to my mate, but exposing my kind, exposing me, could only put him in even more danger.

"Umm... Do you think you can take the kids out? Something's going on at home and I need to be there."

"Yeah, don't worry about it," he said. I smiled.

"Thanks Brent," I smiled back, feeling relieved. He hadn't asked any questions and for that, I was grateful. "Just drop me off at home. Take the Camaro. Be careful," I warned him, giving him a look meant to say that he better take care of my baby or else. He laughed. As he drove, my hands kept on fidgeting and I couldn't stay calm. My pack had captured the wretched bloodsuckers who hurt my mate. I wanted to rip them limb from limb, I wanted to shed blood, to claw their eyes out. I focused on my breathing, trying to calm my wolf down. Brent stopped in front of my house and I opened the door.

"Cece."

I turned around and immediately, a pang of sadness took over my top region. His eyes looked so sad, and I felt his anguish at not knowing what was going on.

"I don't know what's going on but... Don't push me away.. Whatever is going on, I want to help. Your too important to me and I don't like seeing you like this. It kills me," he whispered. I leaned forward, and bit my lip.

"Brent... This is something that you just can't help with. I need to handle it myself. Just know that.. No matter what, I only want you safe," I said softly before closing the door. I ran up the cement stairs and dashed inside. I could feel the tears cascading down my face. I hated secrets, and I hated lying to him. But I preferred lying to him then putting his life at stake. As I ran through my back door, I could feel the change from human to animal start taking place. I jumped off the back porch and my white paws landed softly on the green layer of grass. Immediately, I felt my pack inside my head. Growling. Snarling. I stalked towards the two vampires, my eyes burning through theirs. I hated them with a passion. As I got closer, the blonde one smiled. A grimace of a smile. As if she knew that death was inevitable. And then, she spoke.

"If your gonna kill me, just fucking do it already," she said, her eyes burning into mine. I laughed. I closed my eyes, and felt myself shift. I stood in front of her in human form, aware that I was completely naked. But I didn't care. My focus was on the miserable leech in front of me, this creature that left my mate, my love, my other half, to die. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the other vampire slowly appraising me up and down. He whistled and chuckled. I snapped my fingers, and two wolves pounced on him. The only sounds were the sounds of flesh being ripped apart, surrounded by the sounds of the snarling wolves, ripping the filthy leech apart. The blonde women stared at me with hatred, her lips curling back over her teeth. I smiled.

"You stupid mutt! I'm gonna enjoy ripping you apart!" She shrieked, trying to break free from my packs grasp. I merely laughed. I stalked towards her.

"And I'm gonna enjoy torturing you slowly, killing you slowly and painfully, you filthy leech," I snarled before grabbing her by her hair. She yelped in surprise.

"And once I'm done with you, your gonna be begging me for death," I growled before throwing her against a tree. The impact shook the tree, and she collapsed on the ground. She sprang up, and crouched ready to attack. Growls erupted from around me.

"Don't!" I yelled to my pack. "This one is MINE. NO ONE intervene!"

The blonde bloodsucker smirked. With inhuman speed, she jumped on me, knocking me down to the ground. She grabbed my arm and twisted. I groaned in pain, but swiftly kicked her off. She went flying, but somersaulted at the last minute. I started seeing red, and suddenly, I was impacted. I shook my head, trying to clear it, when I felt pain in my abdomen. I crumbled down. A part of me was telling me to shift, it would make things easier. But I couldn't. I wanted to kill her with my bare hands. I wanted her to beg for her life under my hands. I growled, and sprinted towards her. She wasn't expecting it and I got a good shot. I swung my arm, and my fist connected with the side of her face. I heard the sound of bones breaking, and I smiled. She fell down and I was immediately on top of her, swinging over and over again. She mustered up her strength and gave me a hard push. I wasn't expecting it and I stumbled off. She leaped up and came at me, her fangs out. I grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against the ground. As I looked down at her, the memories of what she did began to overtake my mind, my body.

I wanted her dead.

"You almost killed my mate," I growled, and swiftly kicked her in the face. Her head snapped back.

"You left him there to die!" I shrieked. My anger flared up, and before I could stop myself, my wolf shifted. She wanted to rip this creature as much as I did. I bit into her neck, and she screamed, her yells slowly slowing down into gurgles. I continued to rip her apart. Every now and then, small pieces of her body would fly up into the sky.

"Alpha," I heard Jackson call me. But I couldn't acknowledge him. My focus was still on the empty corpse below me. She was practically decapitated, chunks of her body had been ripped off already. I snarled at her dead carcass, pushing her away with my snout. As I shifted back into my human self, I felt my pack. Anxiety, worry rolled off of their bodies. I looked at my beta, a confused look on my face. My body froze as I heard the sound of an accelerated heart beat. I didn't have to turn around to know who I felt.

My mate. I heard the sound of someone falling. I jumped around, and saw Brent lying on the ground.

"Brent!"
