BRENT:

I slowly groaned as I tried to open my eyes. I felt my eyelids flutter, before angrily, I forced them open. Everything was so... Bright. And peaceful. I raised my hand up, to shield my eyes from the light. As I did that, I felt warm hands pull my arm down, back to my side. I looked to my right, and I smiled. Cecilia. How ironic. Just three weeks ago, we were in this same situation, right after the attack. As I stared at her, my smile began to dissipate. And suddenly, I was attacked by an array of flashback of memories that began to appear right before my eyes. The woods. The wolves. A white wolf ripping up a human being, and that white wolf suddenly turning into Cecilia. I gasped. I leaped off the bed, and shrank back.

"Brent-"

"Stay away from me," I stammered out. A look of hurt flashed through her eyes, and I couldn't help but feel guilty, for a second. But that second quickly passed. Terror replaced it, once I analyzed the facts.

Cecilia was a werewolf. A fucking werewolf!

I took small steps, backing myself up even more, farther away from her. I almost stumbled when my backside hit a solid wall.

"Brent, your acting like a little girl. If I had wanted to hurt you I would've already," she sighed.

"I'm sorry, I'm acting like a little girl? What do you expect? I just saw you TURN INTO A BIG, WHITE, FUCKING WOLF," I yelled.

"Geez, will you calm down?! Let me explain," she said.

"Explain what?! That you kept from me the fact that you turn into a mythical creature that's rumored to kill and devour humans?!" I yelled.

"Well, when you put it THAT way, it does sound sort of ridiculous," she replied. I shook my head, still not believing anything. I was at a loss for words. Cecilia was a werewolf.

She was a FUCKING WEREWOLF!

"Brent, listen to me please. Don't start jumping to conclusions, and don't start overreacting."

"Sure Cece, I'll just pretend like everything's normal and I didn't just see you turn into a freaking giant dog," I replied sarcastically. She narrowed her eyes at me.

"Your sarcasm is annoying. And I'm not a dog."

For once, I looked around. I didn't notice the place I was at, and it didn't calm down my nerves.

"Where the hell am I?"

She sighed. "My room."

What the hell?

"Brent, can you let me explain now?"

"Are you gonna kill me?"

"Are-are you- wow. I can see you've been wrongly informed," she said, rolling her eyes. "No I'm not gonna fucking kill you. So can you please, just relax. For your sake and mine." I took a step forward, then collapsed on a nearby chair.

"Brent, I need to ask you something. And I need you to be honest with me."

"Do you seriously want to have a conversation about honesty right now. Really," I said, raising an eyebrow. She just stared at me.

"Why did you follow me," she finally sighed. I opened my mouth, but no words came out. I closed it again.

"I got worried about you," I muttered.

"Why?"

"What do you mean why? Can't I get worried about you? Something was going on and... I wanted to help," I remarked.

She shook her head, chuckling. "You have to be the most idiotic boy I have ever met."

"Maybe. After all, you DID manage to lie to my face for a while now," I replied, shrugging. I knew it was a low blow, but I was mad.

She glared at me. "I kept this 'shit' from you, for your own fucking safety. It's not safe for you to know about us Brent! I was doing it for your own protection! You don't know the kind of people that would go after you just for knowing what we are!" She yelled. I stared at her in shock. She sighed, and started biting her lip.

"Cecilia...," I slowly started.

"What."

I paused, not knowing if I should ask. In the end, my balls won. I looked up at her and directed my eyes towards her.

"Your keeping something else from me. I want to know what."

"What are you talking about?"

"Does your... Kind... Species, or whatever. Do you guys normally affiliate with humans?" I asked softly. I didn't expect my question to startle her. Her response shocked me. She looked... Sad, guilty.

"Brent," she sighed. I didn't say anything, just stared.

"Brent, your my mate."
