"So, what kind of things can you do?"

We had walked out of her room, hand and hand, and made our way down to the kitchen. The fact that the love of my life was a werewolf was still overwhelming.

"What do you mean?"

"Do you have, like, super powers and what not?"

"For fucks sake, I'm a werewolf, not a superhero. Yes, I'm strong and yes, I have inhuman speed. No, I don't kill and devour humans. I eat normal food Brent," she replied, rolling my eyes.

"What DO you eat?" I asked, curiously.

"The same thing you do."

Something else was bugging me, but I didn't know whether I should ask or not.

"Brent."

"Mm?"

"I'm sorry for springing this all on you like this, but I know there's something else that's bugging you," she said softly. I sighed.

"Why was that blonde girl after me?"

She stayed quiet, and the silence grew. My anxiety began to grow, but I waited for her to say something.

"I don't know," she whispered. "Vampires normally don't take an interest in humans. Well, not just one in particular. I'm still trying to figure out why..." She trailed off.

Two guys walked in at that moment. The glares they gave me made me feel uncomfortable and I shifted in my seat. I heard a low growl, and I looked up, noticing that Cece was giving the wolves a ferocious glare, staring at them as if she was having a conversation with them. She sighed, and the wolves walked out.

"And what was all that about?"

"I need to introduce you to the pack,"

"What?!" I screamed.

"Brent, your the Heron of the pack. Your the Alphas mate."

"What does that have to do with anything?" I asked.

"Well, technically speaking, in your human way to speak, your like the boss's boyfriend. And, the pack needs to know who they're gonna protect," she replied.

"Protect?"

"I'm not just gonna keep you unprotected."

"I'm man enough to defend myself, thanks," I muttered.

"Oh really," she replied. Before I knew it, I was off the chair and on the ground, her teeth at my neck, snarls coming from within her chest.

"If I had been a vampire, you would've been dead already," she whispered before getting up and walking out.

"That's not fair! I'm only human!" I yelled after her. Her laughter radiated throughout the house. As I walked outside to follow her, I stopped in my tracks. Several men were surrounding Cece, and what shocked me the most was the way they showed respect for her. The way they showed how loyal they were to her. I couldn't help but gawk. Cece caught my eyes and she winked, motioning for me to join her. I slowly made my towards her, aware that all these men were indeed wolves, just like her.

"Don't be shy," she whispered.

"Shy isn't the word I would use," I muttered. She chuckled. She raised her head, and directed her voice towards the group of men. They stared curiously at me, their eyes wondering.

"I want you to welcome the packs new Heron."

A murmur of surprise arose amongst the men.

"He's your mate Alpha?" Someone asked.

She smiled. "Yes Eric. Brent, from here on, will become a part of your pack, of our family. And I want him safe. Protect him with your life, the way that Black Moon has protected you for centuries."

A chorus of cheers and claps erupted and I couldn't help by smile and blush. She was making such a big deal for me, and id be lying if I said I didn't appreciate it.
