(Y/N pov)

Buzz buzz, buzz buzz.

You groaned as you slowly sat up.

'What happened..?'

Your forearm was extremely red, probably because you were resting your head on it the entire night. You reach into your pocket and turn off the alarm. The label read 'School Time'. It was currently 7:10 am, meaning that you only had about 20 minutes to get ready and leave for school. You groggily grabbed your backpack from the floor and walked out of the apartment, locking the door behind you.

But of course some woman in the lobby spilled all her coffee on your uniform, meaning you had to go back up and change into your spare one. Which meant you were now late, and extremely pissed.

The entire walk to school, you were mumbling curses about everyone and everything that mildly caught your attention, Even to the point where you were glaring daggers at the birds who were just trying to fly by.

You had arrived at Karasuno, and your temper was still sky-high. Finding your locker was a bigger challenge than you thought, but you eventually made it. You emptied your backpack onto the shelf and hung it on the hooks below. You glanced at your phone and groaned loudly into the empty hall. It was 30 minutes past the start time of your first class. At this point, you decided it was better to just skip first period. You slammed the locker door closed and walked away, not even flinching at the loud bang it produced.

This school was much bigger than you thought. You had spent the remaining 15 minutes roaming the halls, subconsciously taking in every detail and memorizing the maze of a school. Eventually the bell rang, and you started making your way back to where you saw the period 2 classroom.

You entered through the classroom door, only seeing five or six people. No one looked up at you from their conversations. There were names on all the desks, much like elementary school, and yours happened to be at the back right beside the window. Your mood slightly improving, you sat down, enjoying the cool breeze that made your hair flow softly.

Class soon started and the teacher was babbling on about something you understood in the first 5 minutes of explaining. That's right, you could pick things up a lot faster than the average human being, meaning you were constantly bored. You scanned around the room, looking for something to do, before realizing there was a suspicious pile of papers on the teacher's desk. You squinted slightly, and saw that they were today's pop quiz. You quietly groaned and slunk back into your chair.

As you sat there glaring daggers at the paper pile, suddenly a strong gust of wind blew inside the classroom and all the papers fell on the ground.

'Ok that's not normal'  you thought

That was a very strong gust of wind, and with you being right beside an open window, you should have felt something too. But when the papers blew on the ground, your hair didn't even move.

Ok well ignoring that strange event, the teacher went on to pick up all the papers while continuing to drone on about some math concept. While you had the time, you started to think about what happened last night. It was... strange. The way the wind wanted you to go to that peaceful meadow, and the way it just disappeared. It was also strange that you just collapsed right when you walked into your apartment.

The teachers starts to walk around, handing out the pop quizzes. When she gets to your desk at the back, her hands were empty.

"Oh I'm so sorry (L/N), I forgot to print enough copies"

"It's ok, if I answer a hard question on the board, can I get the rest of the period off?"

Your teacher contemplated a little before agreeing and walking towards the board to start writing the question. You got up shortly afterwards and followed her towards the front of the classroom, smirking at the easy question. The blue chalk in your hand glided along the blackboard as you answered the question with ease.

Once complete, you looked towards the teacher with a questioning look. She skimmed over your answer before nodding in approval. You smiled slightly before collecting your things and heading towards your locker. You put in the 4 digit code, 6 0 0 2, and dumped your binder on the shelf. Grabbing your lunch from yesterday, you once again headed to the roof as you heard the bell ring.

In the second last hallway before the doors nearest to the roof ladder, there was a steady beat of footsteps behind you. Someone was following you.

Instead of heading to the roof where they could do something to you, you took the next right and started heading towards the cafeteria. Once it was in sight, you turned down a hallway that branched off from the main one and waited until your stalker turned the corner.

As expected, a head of white hair turned and almost bashed right into you if you hadn't moved slightly to the right. Their eyes widened as they realized you knew.

"Sugawara? Why were you following me?" you asked.

Math had improved your mood, but you were still slightly ticked off.

"Uhhhh......" he replied, clearly still collecting himself from being caught.

He then shook his head slightly and smiled warmly, which strangely reminded you of an inviting mother...

He handed you a paper, explaining how it was the form to become a manager for the team. You stared at the paper for a good minute before looking back up and blinking once. You had a pretty crappy morning and having to deal with managing a volleyball team, let alone playing again, didn't exactly help your mood. But the old memories of volleyball came crashing in. Flashes of talking, crying, working yourself to the bone, desperate to get rid of the hurt and emptiness lying deep within you.

You snapped back to reality when something warm touched your forehead. The haze in your eyes slowly fading. Once you could process normally again, you looked around slightly confused. You were now sitting against the wall, with Sugawara's hand on your forehead. You looked up at him. With little energy left, your facade was broken and Sugawara could see everything in your eyes. His expression changed from worried to downright concerned and before you could say anything, you found yourself in a warm embrace. One you hadn't gotten since before you were five. A painful reminder of what had occurred, mixed with the absolute warmth from the hug, had tears streaming down your face.

'He cared'

The only thought echoing through your head as you soaked Sugawara's uniform with your tears. Your grip tightened on his back, the fabric bunching up in your small palms. In return he hugged you tighter, before pulling back and wiping the tears off your face. A small giggle making its way through the dense lump of emotions in your throat, you look up at him with a small smile.

"You hug like a mom"

A soft smile tugs at his lips and amusement flashed in his eyes.

"Where were you headed? Maybe we can go there to talk"

A better mood washing upon you, you simply stand up, momentarily holding the wall as a rush of dizziness invaded your head, then walked back towards the exit next to the roof. Sugawara followed behind, saying nothing as you walked towards your destination. Once at the door, you pushed it open and headed towards the ladder.

"The roof? Be careful and stay away from the edge"

You internally laughed at how much of a mother Sugawara really was, but nonetheless continued to climb the ladder, one foot after another. Once you reached the top you turned around and waited for him to make it up. A hand emerged over the edge, and soon after followed his body. You sat down on the warm surface, as Sugawara walked towards you and sat down as well. Not wanting to be the one to break the ice first, you just picked at yesterday's lunch, an odd feeling swirling through your stomach making your appetite disappear. As Sugawara glanced up at you, you knew what was coming.

And you were not excited.
