Slamming the door shut I climbed into the Uber following suit of my sister. My first day was nothing like I had imagined.

All of my courses I'm enrolled in look like they're gonna be so much fun! I know I'm gonna be learning so many new things and ways to make my pieces really come alive.

I want to stand out. One day I'm gonna make sure that when people hear my name they know who I am. What I've done and how talented I am. I want to be able to look at everything I've become and be proud.

Walking into the kitchen a vanilla smell filled my nose. Taking a few more sniffs I walked further into the kitchen and found Stephen cooking something over the stove. He must've heard me walk in because he turned to face me and offered a plate out. Sitting on the plate was a freshly made, warm gooey, frosting drizzled cinnamon roll.

I licked my lips feeling my mouth practically watering at the sight of the beautifully made dessert. I noticed Valerie sitting at the table drinking coffee and eating her own roll I took a seat to join her.

"Stephen this is so good! Thank you!"

"Thank you. My mother is actually the one who taught me this recipe. That was a long time ago but I make it every once in a while because of how good they truly are."

"They really are good Stephen I agree with Davina. Make we can exchange recipes," letting her voice trail off I looked at Valerie who was staring at Stephen. She winked at him and stood up from her chair. Walking over to him she placed a hand on his forearm and kissed his shoulder blade and then whispered something to him. Answering her with a head nod Valerie turned to face me.

"It was good to see you again Davina. I hope to see you again soon and thank you for breakfast Stephen, but I have to get going or I'm going to be late!" Stephen gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and turned back to his other rolls still cooking.

I waved goodbye and watched her red hair disappear down the hallway and into the elevator. I wonder how long her and Stephen have been going on for? They seem like they're great for one another. No wonder they work so well!

"She's lovely isn't she?"

"Yes she is. You guys seem to be great for one another," nodding his head towards me he set the rest of the rolls in a dish.

"We weren't always so wonderful. We had a very rough start, but at the end of everything we went through it was her. It was Valerie who stood beside me, and I won't ever be able to thank her enough. So I made a promise to her instead. A promise to always love her and cherish her no matter what happens."

"That's beautiful," staring at him I could see it in his face how in awe he was when he spoke about Valerie. It was beautiful. Hearing a ding sound through the air I leaned to the right of my chair. As nosy as I am I was curious to see who was stepping off the elevator.

Klaus and Freya stepped off the elevator with Natalie following them. Upon seeing me Natalie's face lit up and she took the seat next to next to me.

"Hey girl! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever. How was your first day!"

"Well my first day was fabulous! I absolutely love it! I made my first piece on the spot in front of my classmates today! That was nerve wracking. I also met a bunch of new people and I cannot wait to actually dive into the courses!"

"That's great! I bet they're going to love you!" Camille added joining in on the conversation. Smiling at her I nodded and took another roll.

"It was a really really great day!" I smiled and stood from my chair. It's been such a long day and I needed a shower. Saying bye to everyone I headed to the elevator.

I did the usual routine, hitting the button waiting forever for the ding, finally opening I stepped inside. Waiting for the doors to shut I leaned back against the cool glass walls of the elevator.

Reaching down I wrapped my hands around the rails. They felt so cool against my sweaty palms. Hearing the ding I stepped out into my hall, and walked down to Kol's door. Sticking my key in, that Kol made me by surprise, I stepped into the cool apartment. He had the windows wide open. He knew I loved how nice the breeze was, it felt refreshing just how I liked it.

"Kol? You home?" not hearing a response I made my way towards our room and didn't see him anywhere. I wonder where he was.

Grabbing my clothes I headed to the shower. Turning the dial I decided to undress while it heated up. Stepping into the steaming water I did my usual routine. Shampoo, let it soak in for three minutes, conditioner in the ends of my hair. Scrubbing my body with my mango sugar scrub I felt amazing. Turning the shower off I stepped out and wrapped up in one of Kol's fuzzy towels. Walking into the bedroom I stared at the window fascinated with how the sun rays looked peeking in. I walked over to the window and pulled the curtain back to see out the window.

It was sunny and beautiful outside, and the breeze was amazing. Breathing in I turned my head to the sound of the door opening. Kol!? Was he home? Gosh I hope so! I couldn't wait to tell him about my day, and to hear all about his.

"Darling? Davina are you home?"

"Yes I am. In here!" calling back to him I heard his distant footsteps growing. Finally seeing his figure appear in front of me I drank him in. His hair was styled up and slightly to the right of his head. He was wearing a flannel shirt with a leather jacket, and he was wearing dark jeans that hugged him very well. I felt myself bite my lower lip and I giggled and he shot me a toothy grin.

Walking over to me he scooped me up in his arms and laid me on my back. Pulling the towel back a little he peered down at me, and bit his lip looking me up and down. Putting the towel back he leaned down to kiss me deeply and it set my soul on fire.

He set my soul on fire. Pulling away from me Kol looked me up and down one more time.

"Let's go for a swim darling,"

"Right now? I just showered!"

"I know but you don't have to dip your hair! Come on it'll be fun!" Jumping up he grabbed shorts and began to change. Deciding to slip on a bathing suit I joined him in heading up to the rooftop.
