Recap:

"You're making quite the noise. Some of us tenants like enjoying the peace and quiet," he mused watching me drop another suitcase. Striding across the hall Kol picked up the bag.

"Let me help you, yeah? After all we should get to know each other ya know? Being neighbors sure has its perk, especially with a pretty thing like you," he trailed off eyeing me with a smirk. Looking into his eyes I could see the lust that showed through. I nervously rubbed my arm and looked up at him.

"I don't need help, thanks though. Why don't we just get something straight here. I'm not some damsel in distress so don't think I'll melt for you just like that!"

"You better be nice to me don't you know this is the start of us falling in love?"

"Pff. I think not," I scoffed and leaned back against my doorframe.

"Is that a challenge?" He whispered through clenched teeth stepping toe to toe with me. Feeling his warm breath fan my face I looked up into those deep brown eyes.

"I reckon so, stranger."

"How about a deal then, let's seal it... we seal it with a kiss!"

"A kiss? You think you're charming don't you?" I glared at him and in return he let a deep chuckle escape his lips.

"Oh Davina, in due time you will be mine. But until then love," he sent a wink my way and with a turn on his heel he disappeared into his room.

Finally getting the door open, no help to Kol, I began to drag my bags into the empty apartment. I would most certainly need to go get some furniture this week. But I definitely need a bed tonight.

Seeing a wide wooden dresser across the room I began to fill the drawers. After about forty-five minutes I was finally done putting all my clothes and shoes away. Slipping on a jacket I left my room making sure to lock it behind me.

Hearing a door beginning to open I picked up my pace to the elevator. Sighing in relief when I found myself the only one in the elevator I waited for it to ding.

Hearing the ding I stepped off the elevator and a wonderful cinnamon aroma filled my nose. Following the scent I began to hear growing voices. Turning the corner I realized I was in the kitchen.

Standing over an oven checking on whatever it baking is Natalie talking to, I'm assuming, the other people in the room sitting at the kitchen table.

The woman that was busting herself with some paperwork was beautiful. She had beautiful hair it was sorta blonde but had a orange tint to it. She had beautiful facial structures and I loved her outfit.

"Yes well I think it smells wonderful," the man sitting across from the woman spoke up putting his coffee down. Standing up from the oven Natalie turned around and grinned upon seeing me.

"Davina! Hey! We were just talking about the homemade cinnamon rolls I'm making! Davina meet Valerie and this is Stephen!" She gestured to both of them. "Guys meet Davina! She's new, and Davina? These two are the most welcoming here!" Natalie shot me a grin and dusted the counter up a little.

"Hello there. It's a pleasure," Stephen offered a hand to me and flashed me a dazzling smile. Shaking his hand I smiled back at him and said hello back.

"Hi I'm Valerie. It's wonderful to meet you it's nice to have a new face around here. Everyone is friendly once you get to know them. The other one you may have to look out for is the Stevens family. Only two of them live here although so that's pleasant."
