Chapter Four
After Jackson and I had left the ice cream shot, I went home. I was tired and had some homework to get done. Tomorrow was Friday. I am so glad for Friday. It has been a very long week.
When I got home my mom and dad were sitting in the living room together. For once they weren't arguing.
"Martha," my father said sturnly.
"Yes father?" I asked.
"Please sit down." He told me.
"Yes sir."
"Where have you been," my dad asked real sturn.
"I was with Jackson. Why?" I asked.
"You are suppose to come straight home from school." My mom said.
"Why do you guys care what I do," I said getting up from the couch. "You didn't seem to care much yesterday when that plate you threw at dad ended up hitting me in the damn face."
"You will not talk to me like that you stupid girl. If you are going to act like this then you can just get out of this house and never come back. Take your stuff with you if you do go."
"Fine. Mom I will. Just so you know, I hate you and dad. I always have. You guys have never treated me like a daughter. You treat my damn brother better even though he gets himself into a lot of trouble."
"It's because you were a mistake you stupid girl" my dad said. " We never wanted you. You were a mistake. We only wanted your brother. You are the reason why we argue all the time. You stupid little delinquite."
"And the truth finally comes out. I'm going to go get my things and go. "
"Good you stupid girl."
I hurried up the stairs to my room and threw all my clothes and shoes and electronical things into a suitcase. I didn't have much. After I cleared out my room, I went to the bathroom and grabbed all of my hair stuff.
I hurried back down the stairs and out to the door to my car.
I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and dialed the first number off the top of my head.
"Hey Martha," Jackson said.
"Can I stay with you? My mom and dad just kicked me out of my house," I said.
"They did what? Yeah you can come stay with me. I'll go fix up the guest bedroom and bathroom for you. I'll see you in ten minutes and you will explain everything that happened."
"Okay see you then." We hung up and I backed out of the drive way and drove to Jackson's house.
Jackson must've heard me pul up because he ran out the door to my car.
"Hi Martha I got everything in the guess bed and bath room set up. I'll grab your bags and take them up stairs for you."
"It's okay with your mom right?" I asked getting out of my car and walking up the side walk.
"Yeah. She doesn't care."
"That's good."
We walked the rest of the way inside in quiet. We quickly walked up the stairs to guest room.
"Here we are," Jackson said setting my suit case on the bed.
"Thanks Jacks. This means a lot to me," I said stuttering a little because I was going to cry.
"Come here Martha," Jackson said pulling me into the hug. I just stood there in Jackson's arms and cried. I cried and cried and cried.
After I stopped crying, I explained what happened to Jackson.
"I'm sorry Martha," He said.
"It's not your fault. I'm just an unwanted child."
