As Taeyong's question rang around Jaehyun's head like an echo of a bell, he huffed. The exhaled breath was visible in the air as the cold had made it possible. Jaehyun's cheeks remained tinted red and so were Taeyong's, as they were staying far too long in the freezing winds.

"When you left, my parents asked me something about you." Jaehyun diverted his gaze from the pale moon to another pale moon, Taeyong's face.

Taeyong's heart was pounding faster than the speed of light. Anxiousness swallowed him whole as he felt the world cracking ever so slightly from the nerve-wracking question.

"They asked, what has Taeyong ever done for me?" Jaehyun looked at the male, completely serious, unwavering as a stone.

"W-What did you say?" Taeyong asked.

He smiled to at least lighten the atmosphere. However, Jaehyun had an indifferent reaction to his smile. Taeyong was crushed by the fact that his smile failed to reciprocate another smile from Jaehyun.

"I couldn't answer, for there was nothing I could point out to as what Lee Taeyong has done for me." Jaehyun returned his eyes to the sky, basking in its magnificent glow and overt serenity.

Jaehyun sat comfortably on the bench, his legs wide open and his hands buried in the pockets of his coat. Taeyong's already-shattered heart continued to crack from what Jaehyun said. Although, who was he to contradict that? It was all factual.

Taeyong had not given Jaehyun the love that he deserved. All he ever returned were cold remarks, bratty behaviors and his mother's wrath. Come to think of it, their young love story consisted of Jaehyun's undying love for the latter and Taeyong's self-centered mindset of 'if we get caught, my parents will get angry at me'.

Taeyong deeply regretted how he acted. He hated how Jaehyun had nothing to say to his parents' question.

"But that was the old Lee Taeyong. I hope the new one is all better." Jaehyun looked to his side before popping a dimple to the side of his handsome face.

That charming face of his never failed to pull Taeyong to the stars. It was one of a kind; so enticing, and so breathtaking. Taeyong felt so undeserving of wanting Jaehyun back into his life.

"I hope so too." Taeyong smiled at Jaehyun in return.

Jaehyun was captivated by that beautiful smile. It was gleaming — glowing gently like the moon. It was a crime to say that smile could not end melancholic days. Jaehyun was far too enticed by Taeyong's glorious smile that he had no idea that his eyes were glued directly to Taeyong's doe eyes.

The familiar feeling came running back, revived from the depths of the forgotten. Time stood still, as it was evident that the snowflakes cascaded even slower than before.

Jaehyun shook his head as he felt this was not right. He refused to return to love Taeyong once again. It was far too painful to do so. Loving him brought a storm of sorrow, barely letting the sun peep through the thick, grey clouds instead of flamboyant flowers blossoming in a field where only their smiles kept the light from dying out.

"I should walk you home — it's pretty late and I wanted to apologize on behalf of my mother." Jaehyun stood up, disappointing Taeyong about the abrupt disruption.

"Ok." Taeyong stood up afterward.

They head off to Taeyong's house. The echoing sound of heels to the pavement accompanied their silent walk. Jaehyun was comfortable with this silence. Even though he disliked the idea of getting back together with Taeyong, he missed having him around. There was something about Taeyong that made nights like these feel like he could for a million more similar nights, as long as Taeyong was present.
