<present>They arrive at the lonesome ice rink. Much fitting the frigid season, it was cold inside as well. Taeyong was thankful for the mittens that he had received from Jaehyun. He was sure if he continued the day at this temperature he would shrivel up.
"Don't you wanna skate?" Jaehyun asked.
"No, I don't know how to," Taeyong waved the offer off and just watched Jaehyun.
Jaehyun was always a surprising fellow. One might think that a big man like Jaehyun would know nothing about delicateness and elegance, however, he too, knew them. Jaehyun skated as if he had been doing it for years. Sure, it was not up to par with figure skaters but it was impressive enough for an average person.
Taeyong was amazed at how Jaehyun would just curve and swivel on the ice.
Taeyong lifted the camera that hung around his neck up to his face. As he got an ideal angle, he snapped a photo. The flashing light caught Jaehyun's attention, reminding him that Taeyong was still with him.
"Why do you do that?" Jaehyun asked.
"Do what?" Taeyong returned with another question.
"Take pictures, you never had an interest in photography back in high school,"
"For references, I take pictures so I can remember," Taeyong looked directly at Jaehyun and flashed a smile.
Jaehyun extended his hand out in front of Taeyong, startling the male with a sudden gesture. Taeyong sighed and gave the picture to Jaehyun, who gladly accepted the offer. He held the photograph dearly in his hands as if it was glass. He saw himself skating on the ice, he smiled for a bit as it was quite pure.
He returned the photograph back to its owner.
Watching Taeyong being timid and just sitting as if he was just some chaperone really bothered Jaehyun. He asked for another pair of skates and brought them beneath Taeyong's feet. Jaehyun knelt before the male and began to remove his current shoes on and attempted to replace them with skates.
"What are you doing? I said I don't know how to skate," Taeyong tried to detach his legs from Jaehyun's grasp but it was deemed futile.
"I'll teach you," Jaehyun immediately replied, his gaze dominated Taeyong, enough for him to comply.
As he placed the final shoe on his right foot, Jaehyun thought of something fitting in their situation.
"It fits my princess," Jaehyun playfully caressed Taeyong's cheek with the back of his hand as he stared at him with adoration.
Taeyong laughed it off and pushed Jaehyun away. However, within the depths of his body, Taeyong's heart was beating louder than guns firing. He wished it was really true. He wished it was only that easy to return to Jaehyun. If only when the shoe fitted on his foot that they would live happily ever after.
With the icy floor glistening before his feet, his gaze remained locked onto Jaehyun as his body shivered. Not by the cold alone, but due to the fear. The fear that he may fall and hurt himself. Taeyong held on the walls of the ice rink while Jaehyun held his arms out, providing an opening for the latter to fall on.
Taeyong had never skated on ice before; this was his first time doing such a sport. Luckily enough, they were the only visitors in the vicinity. Therefore, Taeyong was less embarrassed falling down and slipping up.
He attempted to detach himself from the walls and skate his way to elegance. However, once he had removed his grasp, his legs failed him. Taeyong slipped and he fell on the ice. A loud thud echoed throughout and Jaehyun laughed. His laughed had overpowered the thud.
