"There are no words that can describe the euphoria you feel when your baby recognizes you for the first time and smiles."
—Jared Padalecki

Thirty-eight weeks:

"Call if you need anything and I'm only going to be in San Francisco," I waddled behind him to the door and took a deep breath.

"We will be fine. Please don't stress about anything," the worry didn't leave his eyes and I cupped his cheeks with my hands, "It's going to be okay. I love you," he picked up his suitcase and smiled.

"I love you too. I will text you when I land," he kissed me quickly and got into the Uber. My phone chimed with a text message.

Josh: Call my mom if you need anything. Please try to take it easy and call me if anything happens.

Addyson: You're going to stress yourself out and not be able to focus on your business trip.

Josh: I should've cancelled.

Addyson: You need this last break before the baby comes.

Josh: I know you're right.

Addyson: I would say I told you so, but I'm not going to.

Josh: I'll call you when I land.

Addyson: I love you.

Josh: Love you too.

I scrolled through my contacts and clicked on Steph's number.

"Hey," she answered and I smiled sitting down on the couch.

"Are you free tonight?" I heard her scream something at one of the boys and she cleared her throat.

"Sorry babe, I have a date tonight with Ran," I pressed my lips together and laid back on the couch.

"You two have fun," she said a quick goodbye and I did the never ending struggle of getting up before grabbing the tv remote. I put on an episode of CSI and decided to sleep for a little while. I woke up to my phone ringing and I slowly sat up.

"Hey, babe," I felt the baby kick my side and I groaned. I felt more awake and I looked at the clock.

"I've been calling you since I landed. You had me worried," his flight landed at eight and it's eight thirty now.

"Sorry I fell asleep, but I'm glad you landed safely," I heard him hail a cab and he came back to the phone.

"How are you feeling?" I tried to stand up and fell against the couch again.

"Okay. I'm struggling to get up and I'm hungry," he started to laugh and I grumbled.

"You try getting up with a weighted front. It doesn't work," I attempted to get up again. He filled me in on his flight and how the line for TSA was obnoxiously long. I heard him leave the cab and I finally stood up.

"I just got to my hotel room," I waddled into the kitchen and started making a sandwich, "My bed is going to be cold without you in it," Josh spoke sadly and I frowned. I refilled my water bottle before answering.

"I wanted to go babe," I took a bite out of the sandwich and set the tub on the coffee table.

"We will go after the baby is born," I smiled at his plan and I rubbed my lower back. I felt the baby move against my right side. I groaned and shifted, "Addy?" I rubbed where the baby was kicking and exhaled.

"I'm okay. He's just moving a lot more today," I looked down at my hands and there was another sharp kick. I gasped and hunched over.

"Addy, I'm going to call mom," he kicked again and I got a bad feeling.
