Chapter 24: Team Building and Some

Stijn's POV

I left Colton at my place because I have to make some arrangements for our own cabin. I asked the HR department which cabins they rented so that I can know where to rent our own, one that is quite far from them but not too far.

I also want this to be a special weekend for us because it would be our first week as an official couple. This time, I'm gonna do right by him and treat him to all the things that money could buy. Okay, that might be too much because I know Colton wouldn't really like being treated like that but I could only try.

I planned to do a quick makeover of the cabin that I chose to give it a romantic look. I'm never one to be the guy who is corny and who does everything for their partner but once you experienced true love, you would really want to do everything for them.

And yes, I do believe that Colton is the love of my life. I tried forgetting about him when that shit went down between us years ago but when I saw him again, all of my feelings resurfaced and I can't control it. I had to do everything in my power to be with him and I managed to do that.

Now I'm just setting up this cabin and I'm actually doing it myself. Colton is worth all this and I can't wait for him to see this.

Colton's POV

The whole team has now settled their things in the cabin. I have yet to look for Joana so that I could talk to her and explain why I'm gonna go to my 'own' cabin, the one where Stijn rented for the both of us.

"Hey Nicole, have you seen Joana? I have something to tell her?"

"Oh, she's out there by the lake. I think she's talking with the other team leader. Hey. Why haven't you brought your things to the cabin yet? John is already there."

"Yeah, that's what I'm going to tell her."

"What do you mean?" She inquired.

"Well...you see, I rented my own cabin because I have reports to finish at night and I'm not sure I can do that here. I don't want to be a drag if you guys decide to do something at night while I finish my reports."

"Oh poor you. You still have to think about your classes even if we're supposed to be on a team-building/vacation. I'm sure John would enjoy it now that he gets to have his room all to himself."

John heard his name and he came to us.

"What's that about me having the room all to myself?"

"Well, Colton here rented his own cabin somewhere because the poor guy has some reports to do."

"Sucks for you kid. Great news for me though."

"I don't even wanna know what you're gonna do there alone." Nicole quipped.

"Why don't you come to see tonight."

"No thanks. Anyways, are you really going to be ok alone...in a cabin... in the middle of a forest Colton?

"Yeah, it's fine. I also know a few things about self-defense so I think I'm safe. I'm just gonna talk to Joana and explain it. See you later guys."

"Yeah see you."

Then I walked away and went to Joana to talk to her. Fortunately, she understood my made-up situation. However, she asked me where my cabin is located so that they can check up on me so I had to lie and say that I have to rush my reports so I wouldn't want to be distracted.

The things I would do just to be with my boyfriend who is also my boss. I dug myself into this situation so I might as well milk it and make sure that we are going to have a great night together. And yes, I'm talking about sex.
