Chapter 15

It's been days after the incident between you and your best friends. Everything was comfortable as it was. The only problem you've been thinking about is how to figure out the next clue for the second round. Taehyung and Jungkook have been helping you out in the library searching for answers about screaming, golden eggs and dragons, unfortunately, there weren't any books published for cues to the next round of the Triwizard Tournament.

You just came from your Ancient Runes class, which was an elective you chose out of curiosity though you kind of regretted getting it as it only makes you sleep halfway through the class. You walked down the hallway to the courtyard to meet Jin when you saw there were students gathered around.

"I've seen the post! You stay away from my girlfriend!" You heard Jimin's voice. Out of curiosity, you made your way to the crowd when Hoseok called you.

"Y/N!"

"Hobi, what's happening?" You asked.

"It's Jimin and Taehyung. Have you seen The Daily Prophet?" He asked.

"No, why?" You asked and Hobi gave you a copy of his newspaper and there you saw the picture taken in the tent during the first challenge where Taehyung sneaked in to hug you and wish you good luck, you read the article,

"Triwizard Champion, Choi Y/N, a plain but ambitious girl, seems to be developing a taste for wizards coming from great wizarding families. Her latest prey, sources report, is none other than the charming Gryffindor from the Kim family of Ember's Lane, Kim Taehyung . No word yet on how Park Jimin is taking this latest emotional blow."

You crumpled the paper and bit your lip like it was going to bleed in anger.

"Damn it!" You cursed and marched towards the crowd, as everyone noticed it was you, they made way.

"I'm warning you, Kim!" Jimin said as he took out his wand.

"Why the hell are you threatening Taehyung?" You yelled as you walked in front of Taehyung and faced Jimin.

"Stay away from this, Y/N. Come here." Jimin said.

"No! After you point your wand toward my best friend? I don't think so, Park!" You yell. Rage filled your veins as you saw Park Jimin threaten your best friend. You thought about why Jimin was absolutely in rage after seeing the news when everything between you was just a ruse or maybe Jimin wanted to protect his pride.

"Come on. You can't seriously be going against me, I'm your boyfriend" Jimin smirked.

"It's over, Park." You said. You heard the crowd gasp.

"You're breaking up with me?" Jimin scoffed in disbelief, trying to cover the embarrassment he was feeling after the whole crowd witnessed you dumping him.

"Yes! You heard me loud and clear. Annoying me is one thing, but threatening my best friend? That's so out of line, Jimin. It's over. I'm done." You said Jimin attempted to and turned around to see Taehyung walking away.

You quickly followed Taehyung leaving Jimin dumbfounded and ego shattered.

Taehyung headed to the black lake, steps heavy, obviously trying to hide his anger and embarrassment with the situation.

"Tae? Hey what's wrong?" You asked as you followed him to the tree you three always hung out whenever you had free time.

"Go away, Y/N." He said, not even turning around to face you.

"Did I do something? Tae talk to me." You begged when he turned around with face red in anger.

"Why the hell did you do that?!" He trembled with rage.

"Did what? I defended you from Jimin!" You argued.

"Exactly!" He said and threw his hands. "I'm sick of it!"

"What are you talking about?" You asked, your temper sparked.

"I'm so sick of you and Jungkook trying to defend me all the time like I'm some child, oh, and add Jin to that! People see me like I'm some weird, weak little boy who doesn't know how to properly defend himself. I could have totally jinxed him first if it weren't for you! You completely embarrassed me in front of the entire school!" Taehyung yelled as rage pulsed through his veins.

"If anyone was embarrassed, it was Jimin!" You said, biting your lip quickly regretting what you said. You just invalidated your best friend's feelings.

"Oh yeah? All you think about is your self! You wanted to act high and mighty in front of everyone, yeah go and defend your little helpless friend and then everyone will talk about you after all, you're the controversial Triwizard Champion who seemed so special to everyone's eyes because the Goblet of fire has never gone rogue like that before and chose you as a special champion, oh and to mention that you dated Park Jimin, who's rumored to be head over heels for you in everyone's eyes and you even got rumors circulating about you fucking your two, hot best friends which everyone was so envious about! I didn't even think once you felt miserable with all that attention!" He spat. "Everything went inside that big head of yours!"

What Taehyung said hurt you, pierced through your heart. Never in the many years you've been together that Taehyung had said something so cruel to you. You never wished for all of this to happen, you were fine with your old life being in the normal set of students, you never wanted to be the center of attention and you certainly did not feel any pleasure about being the special Triwizard champion, or the fact that everyone was talking about you fucking your best friends and that you were dating Park Jimin which was all just a ruse but in return, had his father look at you like he wanted you buried six feet under.

"I..I'm sorry I didn't mean—" you cut him off.

"No, I think you're right. I am a horrible, selfish person." You said and bit your lip trying to hold back the tears. Taehyung attempted to hold your hand but you slapped it away and ran back to the castle. Taehyung was left alone, hands combed his hair in frustration and punched the tree trunk.

You wanted to make your way to the dormitories, planning to skip dinner since you don't feel like eating anymore. You were sick to your core.

"Y/N!" You heard a familiar, comforting voice call you. You turned around and saw the Ravenclaw boy ran towards you.

"Joon!" You call.

"I heard what happened. Are you alright?" He asked.

"To be honest, I don't know anymore." You sighed and sat on the floor in the middle of the hallway.

"Hey, get up." He said and offered his hand which you took gratefully and stood up.

"You know you can talk to me. Hobi actually told me what happened in the courtyard earlier but, if you don't want to talk about it, it's totally fine. We can go upstairs to Hobi's secret attic. He's treating an injured pixie he found in the dark forest." He said and you nodded, letting him lead the way.
