Chapter 17

"Where are they?" You mutter to yourself as you walked down to the docks with Soobin and Beomgyu. You were looking for Taehyung and Jungkook but no one seemed to know where they are. You can't believe they ditched you on an important day.

"You look tense, Y/N." Soobin pointed out.

"Do I?" You sarcastically said through gritted teeth.

You continued walking to the docks and rode a boat to the makeshift towers in the middle of the black lake where everyone was gathered to watch the 2nd round of the Triwizard tournament. Your coach, professor Moody was standing near the starting line in which you approached him quickly.

"Professor have you seen—"

"No time for dilly-dallying lass, get your gear ready!" He strictly said and without hesitation you started to prepare your gear. You equipped yourself with a leg pocket for your wand and flippers. Of course, you didn't forget the gillyweed that Soobin gave you. Only a few more minutes before the tournament starts and you start gobbling the gillyweed which made you gag. It was rather slimy and tasted awful that you'd rather eat brussel sprouts over it. You choked on it and professor Moody has given you a heavy pat on the back and in a second you swallowed it whole. You were still wondering where Taehyung and Jungkook went when they were supposed to support you here.

You started to feel something tingly with a tinge of pain down your neck when the canon fired, professor Moody had pushed you to the water.

You swam to your goal in the black lake. Antoinette had already been eliminated for god knows what reason but it made you nervous about what was lurking in the black lake. As you made your way out of the kelp forest, there you saw five people floating with their feet tied and out of the five, you saw your two best friends, Tae and Jungkook, unconscious. You shoot your wand to break the rope tying Jungkook's foot and hooked your arm to his and you attempted to shoot Tae's rope but you were stopped and threatened by the mermaids with a triton. Suddenly, Jin arrives and gets Taehyung which left a little girl. You knew no one else was going to save her as you heard the cannon fire once earlier. You used your wand to cut her rope and the little girl floats to the surface and as you were about to swim up with Jungkook, grindylows started to gather at your feet, biting and stinging you. You pushed Jungkook up to let him float to the surface while you were dragged down by the grindylows. You felt the effects of the gillyweed wear off.

Covered with grindylows you saw another person or you think you did but it might just be the stings making you hallucinate. Refusing to give up, you grabbed your wand and cast a spell that sent you shooting up to the waters and into the tower in the middle of the lake and there everyone greeted you and cheered for you as you coughed up water and was shivering to the core.

"Y/N!" You heard Jungkook's voice and he wraps you around with a warm towel and hugs you. Taehyung joined in as well.

"I..really thought..you guys fuckin' ditched..me." You said as your teeth chattered because of the cold.

Suddenly, a ruckus started when Antoinette shouted and made her way to you and hugged you so tight in tears.

"You saved my little sister even though she wasn't yours to save! Thank you!" She sobbed. After that she looked at Jungkook.

"You!! You helped. Thank you!" She said and kissed Jungkook on both cheeks and then left, leaving Jungkook in a daze.

"Wow" he sighed with a smile.

The places were then announced where you moved up to 2nd instead of 3rd for showing good fighting spirit and morale.

After the 2nd trial, you went and washed up for tonight's dinner. You went down to the corridor to head to the Great Hall when you saw Jimin leaning at the end near the door to the Great Hall. You gathered your courage and attempted to walk past him.

"Still avoiding me, y/n?" He spoke which made you stop dead on your tracks.

"I don't have anything to say to you." You responded.

"You've hurt me, y/n and I still don't know how." He walked and stopped right in front of you. You refused to look at him since you felt bad for doing that to Jimin but you couldn't help getting angry for the words he said to Taehyung. You stayed silent when he gently lifts your chin so you could face him and you saw his eyes, beautiful but empty.

"No one has ever hurt me like this before. I don't get it. Why do you have that effect on me?" He said which made you confused. What effect did you have on Jimin?

"Stop playing with me, Park." You said and slapped his hand away from your face.

"I wish I was just playing with you." He said. "I like—"

"Y/N!!"

Before Jimin could finish, Taehyung called your name out loud. Both of you turn heads to see Taehyung together with Namjoon, Hobi and Jungkook.

"Jimin? What the hell are you —"

"It's nothing, Tae. You go on ahead in the Great Hall. I'll catch up with you." You said and the four of them nodded and went on their way. You looked at Jimin who's face was flushed red.

"Are you suddenly sick?" You asked him and try to feel his forehead but he slapped your hand away.

"No! Forget it. I have to go." Jimin said and dashed away to Yoongi who was waiting for him at the door. You found it confusing though, what just happened? After that, you decided to find your way to the Great Hall and sit between Jungkook and Taehyung as always.

"Hey, what was Jimin talking to you about? Is he hurting you?" Jungkook asked.

"No. It was just small talk." You replied.

"Well, tell me if he's hurting you I swear to Merlin I will beat him 'til he can't walk." Jungkook growled which made you chuckle at the cutest sight you've ever seen.

"It's fine gguk, no need to get worked up. Now, let's eat! I'm starving." You said and you all enjoyed the scrumptious meal served to you.

After dinner, there was still a little time left before bed time so the three of you lounged in the common room couches. Tomorrow is the weekend so it meant no classes and you really needed a day to rest. You were already thinking about laying on the grass at the quad and just dozing off hearing the sounds of birds chirping and the smell of grass tingling your nose.

"Noona!" Beomgyu came running into the common room.

"Gyu? What's wrong?" You asked with a worried expression.

"It's Hobi hyung! He was found unconscious with cuts and grazes in the dungeons!" What he said made you stand up to your feet and ran to the door.

"Where is he?"

"At the infirmary."
