Chapter 8

Hunter's P.O.V

It was a week later. I had been hiding inside my nest ever since my Dad told me. My conjoined twin sons; Caster and Ashter, had hatched the day after I find out about my daughter; Ryder.
Even with the knowledge, I still hatched her. She was beautiful, but she couldn't live the way she was. With just a head and tail connected by a spine.
Zachary had ended up taking her from my arms and buried her in a hand made driftwood coffin.
Harry holding me in his arms as I sobbed over her.
I was just glad my sons were there, I made sure to provide them with all my love and attention.
They were both currently feeding from my chest as I leant against Zachary. Harry was out doing stuff for Uma.

Harry's P.O.V

I smirked at the three before me.
I couldn't wait for the barrier to be gone. Gods know how much we all needed it gone.
Maybe I was just pissed at the lack of healing magic or medical equipment, but I blamed Auradon for what happened to Ryder. My baby girl, gone.
"Harry, how has Hunter been?" Jay sighed, after I relayed Uma's message to them.
"Shit. Our daughter, Ryder, didn't make it. Though, I'm just glad that our sons Caster and Asher did. Even if they're conjoined" I sighed, glancing in the direction of home.
"You can go visit them, but I have to go finish my jobs" I continued, leaving the three behind as tears silently fell from my eyes. Not wanting anyone to see, I wiped them away and returned to the ship and grabbed a bottle of scotch.
"Hey, Harry. You good?" Gil asked, pulling the half empty bottle from me.
"Why don't you go make the King piss his pants?" Uma smirked as she his the bottle behind the counter.
I nodded with a chuckle before heading towards the man tied to the deck.
"Why hello, Bennyboo. How's it hangin'?" I smirked, letting my hook nick his cheek.
"So, I've been thinking. Why is it that I always see you on TV and never doing shit!?" I yelled in fury as I held my hook to his neck.
"What are you talking about?" Ben asked quivering.
"You remember how Hunter was pregnant? Well, he hatched us three beautiful children. You see,
Caster and Asher are conjoined twins and Ryder, our only daughter, is dead!" Harry screamed in fury, his accent thick, as a few pirates grabbed him before he could kill the teen.
"C'mon, Harry" one of the pirates said as the aforementioned male started to shift.
"Gil, go get Z and Hunter. And fast!" Uma called out to the male as she motioned for the pirates holding Harry to lock him in the cabin behind them.

Hunter's P.O.V

Gil ran into their room gasping for air.
"Harry -huff- wolfing out -huff- at ship!" Gil stated before flopping onto the floor.
I gasped and slithered out of the nest with the twins in my arms, Zachary close behind me. Zach lifted us into his arms and started running towards Harry.
I just hoped he didn't do anything he would regret.
A piercing howl was heard upon our arrival. Zachary letting out one in return.
"Where is he?" I asked Uma upon seeing her waiting on deck for us.
Zachary gently placed me down as Uma pointed towards a cabin being held shut by some pirates.
"Get out of the way" Zach commanded them as I gently supported my childrens' heads.
The pirates instantly ran out of range to watch as Harry burst forwards in wolf form.
"Harry. Calm down" Zach whispered into the wolf's ear as he gripped onto him.
I could only watch with worry as Harry returned to human form and started sobbing into our mate's shoulder.
My own eyes teared up as I moved over to them while calming our crying infants.
"Hunter?" Ben called out from where he was tied to the birds nest.
I hissed at him bedore turning back to my children.

Ben's P.O.V

I looked at Harry with pure terror as Zachary hugged him.
That's when I heard the crying coming from Hunter. Turning to face him, I could only stare at the thing in his arms.
It was a baby naga with a black and white flecked tail, a set of arms attached to their torso, and two heads. One with black hair, the other with ash blonde.
In a way, they were cute, yet they were still monstrous compared to what was in Auradon.
Was this why their daughter died?
Due to a birth defect?
"Hunter?" I called out, wanting to know what had happened. Only to receive a hiss that promised death.
Uma and the other pirates watched solemnly before she turned to me with a glare.
"Mal better bring the wand. No one wants this to keep happening" she growled in fury.
Wait, keep happening?
"What do you mean? This is normal?" I asked in horror.
"Due to there being no magic, the magic running through the magical has started causing birth defects to the next generation. Why do you think there are so little people born to the once all powerful? They died, Ben. You can't take magic from the magical and not expect repercussions!" Uma yelled out, tears in her eyes at the thought of her deceased niece.
