I can't remember falling asleep nor the moment I moved myself to bed, despite taking the covers off of me I still felt some heat coming from next to me, body heat I think. I opened one eye and found him stretched out beside me, hands clasped loosely behind his neck. His blue eyes watched mine, and he smelled clean and sexy. Most of all, he felt warm pressed up against me. Despite my best intentions, the close proximity was making it increasingly difficult to concentrate on going back to sleep or staying mad at him.
"Ugh, what are you doing here?" I hissed pushing him off the bed except he didn't move an inch.
"I'm taking you on the ride we talked about yesterday obviously." I love his voice in the early morning, it's raspy and soft. I won't change my mind now, I'll stay strong and fight him.
"Why don't you take your new fiancée, Jessica?" I didn't mean to sound that annoyed.
"Because we- wait a minute, are you jealous?" He chuckled trying to hide a laugh.
"No! Of course not!" I quickly denied. "Don't you have other things to deal with? Other than teasing me in the morning?" Moving out of reach from him, getting ready for the day.
"Of course I do," he said, shrugging. "I have so many things to deal with that I'm sometimes tempted to give up my power and title. Just to buy me some damned peace." He grinned, bowing at the waist. Even in my position, his silly actions send a shiver down my spine. "But I'll always make time for you," he winked, walking toward me. "Besides I'm still the prince and you are still my personal knight, I decided to go on a horseback ride to the nearby forest and you're supposed to go with me and keep me protected so come on change into a proper outfit."
"But-" I began, but William was already gone. I threw my hands up in frustration. I had a hundred questions, but as usual, he was keeping a stranglehold on the answers.
While searching through my stuff to find the perfect outfit I came across the golden pin my mother gave me at the ceremony, a crown and a sword, I'm a mix between the two. Only my father was death back then but look at where we've come, I've lost them both. I should wear it just like I always wear my rose necklace he gave me. I didn't overcome or forget my mother's absence from my life but I got used to it, life must go on after all.
"Nice outfit." He remarked, 'wow thank you it is the one your father gave me and the same one every other knight here at the castle is wearing you highness' I wanted to say but went for a nod instead, I'm in no mood to talk to him, then climbed behind him on the horse.
Obsidian is like the best horse in the country, even at full speed the ride would be considered smooth and sweet. I didn't feel nauseous or uncomfortable the first time I rode him during the training, instead he immediately warmed up to me as if we were old buddy and had a very strong connection to one other.
"Why are we stopping here?" We didn't even make it to the outer border of castle and we already stopped.
"I prepared something for us to do before we go to the forest." Once I've put both my feet on the ground, he immediately blindfolded my eyes and walked me by the hand, directing me into where putting my foot or when there's a small bump, I did trip several times but he quickly caught me in time.
The walk was short but it took me some time to readjust to the light once he took the blindfold off. I looked around me, trying to understand my surroundings but only found an empty land.
"Welcome to your own garden, be free to design it the way you want and with the flowers that you like. Today we'll start my planting some and you can start coming here whenever you feel like it."
