"Rise and shine Olivia," my mother woke me up cheerfully. "Come on let me help you get ready for your big day, I'll prepare the bath for you and bring you the dress so that Christine can do the finishing touches." She added but I quickly cut her off.
"Good morning mother, thank you but I prefer to get ready alone, why not prepare yourself and go before me to the ceremony so you can get a good view of the stage and take good picture of me." Surprisingly she agreed and left me alone in my room.
I got out of bed and looked at myself in the mirror. "This is the day to show everyone what you got. You're no damsel in distress. You're the knight in shining armor. You don't need a prince or a small crown to be recognized. The entire country will know my name. I'll be the strongest knight they'll ever meet." I told myself before going to take a shower.
After a while Christine came to brush my hair and I asked her to put it up in a ponytail just to keep the hair from my face, I want to make the first impression matters, I will tell the king that I'm no fragile girl; everything I do is a statement of course. My makeup was simple but sharp, it made my features look more defined. I looked scary, like one of these superheroes that will snap your neck with only one look. My eyeliner was on point and I finished the look with red lipstick.
For my outfit, I took my black leather pants, a black spaghetti strap shirt, my black leather jacket and a pair of black high heeled boots. I took a moment to stare at myself in the mirror, I looked different, older. I looked sexy, fierce and not coming to play and it was exactly what I was going for. I had this serious look in my eyes, determination, if I saw another girl like that I would definitely be scared for my life.
A car was waiting for me outside to escort me to my destination even though it was a five minute walk but who cares, pamper yourself while you can, that was what I always said. The windows were tainted so no one could see me and be spoiled by the show I'll be presenting later today. I loved the treats they places for us on a small table inside, candies, chocolate and a lot more kinds of goodies, I chose a strawberry lollipop they were always my go to candies.
My number was 102 so I'll be the second to last to go so I sit in the car finishing off my lollipop and the cake they offered me. After what it felt like eternity. "Please welcome Olivia Rose Willow." It was finally my time, a man came and opened my door and as soon as I put my foot on the red carpet all I could hear is gasps from every mouth and silence took over the entire place. I walked to the bowls, stand high, chin up, look ahead, and leave the smile for the victory.
I stood in front of the royalty bowl but before putting the charm that has my name on – every child receives this charm at birth that they must keep on the entire time and will only get rid of it is at this ceremony– I turned to look at every shocked face and found my mom's face, it wasn't hard to find, she had a small smile on and tears in her eyes, gave me a small nod. I threw my name into the knights' bowl and sat on the chair surrounded by boys, with opened mouths staring right at me, I felt uncomfortable but I didn't dare to show it.
The host finally cleared his throat. "Well that was a twist for today, please welcome our final guest Elijah Daniel Woth, many of you might not know him but I know that you'll make him feel welcomed here."
Wow a tall, dark haired boy emerged from the last car, he was wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a black tie. Elijah looks like a gentlemen, I'm sure he's going for royalty... and I'm right. I'm always right. He gave a smile for the town's citizens that made all the girls laugh and swoon over him, I'm pretty sure that he's going to be everything they're going to talk about for next few days, or possibly months.
"Now that each candidate chose their team, please join us for our celebration so that they can say their final goodbye for their friends and family." Everyone began cheering and the music was so loud that it was hard to hear my mother but luckily we got away for a bit.
