I went downstairs for my first day of official knight training. Everyone was already wearing our special outfit and standing in a line waiting for Caen and the other trainer to come and give us our schedule.

"You're going to be parted into two separated groups so we can focus on every single one of your skills. Please check the paper that we hung on this wall and join your proper trainer." Good morning to you too Earle, he's the other trainer besides Caen, I hope I'll never have to be with him during my stay here but who am I kidding? I already know my bad luck. I'm stuck with him for a full week.

"Guess we're training together little princess," joked Lucas, I growled at him, took a bow and arrow and stood in one of the firing lanes. "Oh how cute you want me to help you shoot the bull eye?" Who does he think he is? I'm better than him in a million times. I was trained by my father to aim small animals right in the eye and I got it every time.

I laughed at him maintaining eye contact until he looked away. I started remembering what my father used to tell me "Put your feet about shoulder width apart. Stay relaxed. Hook the string between the first and second joint of the fingers and try to avoid the string sliding from your fingers. The pressure of the bow hand must be collected with the heel of the hand on the bow along the pressure line. Relax your fingers. The top of the hand must be at an angle of approximately 45 degrees with the bow. The thumb and index finger are allowed to touch each other. Pull the string close to the bow arm in a straight horizontal line to the anchor point. The pulling is done by using your back muscles, moving the shoulder blades together. Stay relaxed and upright. Keep both shoulders as low as possible. The string should touch the center of the nose and chin lightly. The index finger of the drawing hand must be placed under the chin. Keep the teeth together while anchoring. Keep the back muscles under tension. Bow hand, draw hand and elbow should form a straight line. Keep both shoulders as low as possible. Aim with your dominant eye. Keep both eyes open. Keep the sight on target. Align the tendon somewhat right out of the visor. Pull the scapula towards each other, while the fingers of the draw hand relax. A relaxed draw hand goes backward on its own. Relax the bow hand. Let the bow fall out of your hands if you have a sling. The drawing hand must relax and be positioned at or behind the neck. Keep aiming until the arrow has hit the target."

He was so patient with me. I miss him so much but that won't make me look weak. I did every step and took my time and released the bow but I missed it by one inch. Stupid tears. I could hear the others snickering behind me so I wiped my tears with the back of my hand and focused and this time everyone gasped I hit it right in the middle.

"I think I can handle myself thank you." I said to Lucas but he only scuffed and tried to do it himself several times but missed the entire target until he hit the outer black section. I could feel his embarrassment.

"It's okay I don't expect you to hit the target from the first day. This is why I am going to teach you how to correctly aim step by step." Said Earle while giving me a look that means 'No need to show off' so I'm the bad guy now. He was literally making fun of me with his friends, a few seconds ago.

We sat for an hour listening to Early teaching us the basics of archery. Everything my father already teach me so I sat bored but also taking it as a resting hour, and another one while he was teaching how to hold the pistol properly and aim.

"First, hold the gun with your dominant hand and place it high on the grip. Wrap your last three fingers around the base of the grip, just underneath the trigger guard. Keep them as close together as possible and don't overlap. Keep the index finger of your dominant hand extended and against the frame of the gun. Your shooting finger should never be on the trigger unless you are aimed and prepared to fire. Your thumb should be wrapped around the other side and held against the other side of the frame, near the top."
