Why not give y'all another chapter because I'm feeling generous?

It's kind of short, apologies for that.

You gently knocked on Cassandra's bedroom door.

"Whoever that is, you're my next meal," You stared at the closed door in amusement as Cassandra's tired voice muffled through it.

She definitely isn't a morning person.

"Well, I guess I should leave you alone then," You mused and turned around, walking down the hall.

When you were halfway down the hall, Cassandra's door sprang open and you immediately felt a cool hand wrap around your wrist firmly yet gently. You held back a smirk and looked back, locking eyes with Cassandra.

She had a sheepish grin on her face, "I didn't know it was you."

"Clearly," You giggled and leaned forward to kiss her forehead, "Sorry I woke you up but I wanted to show you something."

The tired look on her face was replaced with childlike curiosity, her eyes lighting up, "Really?"

You notice she was still in her black silky pajamas, "Yes, would you like to get dressed first or-"

"No, I would like you to show me whatever it is you want me to see first," She interrupted and almost bounced on her feet in excitement but held back.

Chuckling softly, you nodded your head and gently held her hand. You hummed and led her down the halls until the two of you reached the armory.

Cassandra cocked her eyebrow at you but didn't say anything as you opened the doors, motioning for her to enter her favorite room.

"What are we doing in here?" She tilted her head at you and looked around the room, looking for something to stand out.

Her eyes caught something covered in a white sheet in the far end of the room.

You shifted on your feet a bit nervously yet excitedly, "I owe you a personal apology."

"For what?" She frowned over at you, her gaze continuously flickering over to the white sheet.

You moved so you were right in front of her, placing your hands on her shoulders and sending a sad smile, "For not telling you my thoughts on the last family painting you showed me."

Cassandra blinked and looked away from your intense gaze, "Oh."

"I love it," You muttered, gently squeezing her shoulders, "I notice you had thrown it away in the kitchen garbage."

Cassandra closed her eyes and exhaled, "I thought you hated it so I decided to throw it away after you refused to say anything when I first showed you it."

"Quite the contrary, my dear," You replied and kissed her cheek, "I never told you this but I took it out of the garbage and it's hanging up in my bedroom. It's been in my room ever since that day actually."

Cassandra's eyes snapped open and she looked at you in astonishment, "R-Really?"

You take notice of the hopeful tone in her voice.

"Yes, actually, it inspired me to do something for you in return," You grinned and trailed to the back of the room.

Cassandra stayed rooted in her spot as you grabbed the object that you kept covered with the white sheet.
