Chapter 5

Amity walked through the halls in the Emperor's covens headquarters. Behind her walk three of her six guard. Their footsteps echo in the halls. Amity let her eyes move around as she looked at the few people that she meet.

She turned a corner and moved into the hall with the glass windows that tell the story about how Belos became the emperor. The Hall was empty of people, so she stopped. She looked at the glass window, noticing some glass that was missing. She sighed.

"Why did I ever think that I wanted to join this Emperor's coven?" Amity thought. It was not the first time she had thought that. Her seven year spent with Luz and her friends had changed her view of her life, for the better.

She smiled faintly as she recalled some of the things that she had experiences with everyone and some with Luz specifically. Her smile widened little, before it disappeared. Daydreaming could she do later, right now she needed to give her report about yesterday.

She started to move again, her three guards follow little behind her. As she turned the corner, she met someone she didn't want to meet. "Oh! Greetings Miss Blight!" A woman said walking toward Amity. "Greetings to you too, Miss Karsue!" Amity replied, trying to sound nice.

Miss Karsue was around forty and had reddish pink hair, fair pink skin and dark grey eyes. "Oh you could call me Mara, little dear!" Mara said as she moved closer. Amity smiled her fake smiles. "By the way Miss Blight, have you thought anything of my suggestion?" Mara asked.

Amity looked a little puzzled. "My sorry Mara, but could you remind me! I have been very busy with Emperor's and my families work!" She asked. "But of courses, little dear!" Mara answered. "My suggestion was that you would go and marry Zander, you know!"

Amity had to use all of her willpower to not show disgust by those words. Zander was a boy that had tries to flirt with her to get on her good side a couple years ago. Amity knew that all he wanted from her was her body and her family's wealth.

So she had ignored all of his attempt, but he kept pestering her until he took on step to far. He had tried to treat her and forced himself upon her, which ended badly for him. She had broken his nose and burned his right arm before she let him ran away, but not before tell him what she would do to his lower parts if he tried anything again.

She learned later that Luz and her mother had 'talked' separately with him afterward. Since then, had Zander never dare to approach again.

Amity chose her words carefully not to offend Mara. "I have to decline! I don't have time for a partner, considering how much work I have with Emperor's coven and with my families business!" Amity said trying her best to sound exculpatory.

"Oh, the ever so hard working Amity I hear!" Mara said smiling. Amity knew that smile was a fake. Mara looked away from Amity. "It is a pity that my niece isn't like you at all!" Mara continued. "I had planned to get her together with Zander in the beginning, but she disappointed me with her weakness!" Amity hid a frown. "And to make matter worse, she ran away with that plant girl criminal! A criminal AND a girl a top of that!" Mara said with disdain in her voice. Amity was boiling on the inside. "I give her everything she needs to succeed, but she throws it away!" Mara continued.

Amity was very close to punch the harpy in the face, but that she said next changed her mind. "It is good that you stopped associated with her and her human friend! I can't see anything good come from her, especially as she lived with that Clawthorne criminal." Mara said with even more disdain then before.

Amity's thought had now changed from using physical violence to plan and commit cold blooded murder. Mara hadn't noticed Amity's death glare, which was good, but instead continued her bad mouthing of friends and Luz. Amity had to stop listing to calm herself down before she would do some rash. She took some deep breath and thought happy thought of Luz.
