Prisoner Introductions

Chief's POV

I had asked Mr. Devineaux to meet me in my office.

He would be the one to control ACME'S VILE TEAM for his knowledge of Carmen Sandiego.

Chase entered the room.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Devineaux." I said. "Shall we get started?"

Chase nodded and took a seat.

I clicked a button in my desk which made Carmen's picture appear in a hologram.

"You know her." I said.

"I know all about La Femme Rouge." Said Chase. "She got a dozen over me before, but not anymore."

"Well," I said. "There's more you need to know about her."

I pushed another button which showed a video of Carmen beating up a dozen V.I.L.E. operatives back when she still wore her Red Fedora and Red Coat.

"She dedicated her whole life to stop V.I.L.E." I said. "She was raised by V.I.L.E., but never agreed with their cause. And as you know, she faked her death and started using dart guns. One reason it was hard to tell it was her was the Red Skull Helmet."

"That I know." Said Chase. "With that voice changer, nobody could tell it was her."

Her helmet, when spoken into, a dark, robotic, feminine voice would come out.

That's why we couldn't recognize her voice.

"And now for the rest." I said, click a button for the next photo.

It displayed a picture of Tigress.

"You know her as Sheena." I said. "Her code name is Tigress. She was a rich girl from California who wanted just a little bit more. The only thing that Tigress informed us about herself was that she hates Carmen. She uses her clawed gloves to attack her targets. She wears night vision goggles. While she is a deva, she can prove to be a valuable asset."

"Nothing I can not handle." Said Chase.

I clicked another button.

It displayed a picture of El Topo.

"You know him as Antonio." I said. "His code name is El Topo. He used to live in a shanty house in Mexico before being recruited by V.I.L.E. His greatest skill is digging. If there's dirt, he can find a way in and out."

"We could enter the low ground." Said Chase. "But being covered in dirt is going to suck."

I clicked the next button.

A picture of Le Chévre.

"You know him as Jean-Paul." I said. "His code name is Le Chévre. Like you, he's from France. His main skill is being an expert climber. If it's tall, he's up, pun intended, for the job."

"It's good to have friends in high places." Said Chase.

I clicked the last person.

A picture of Paper Star was displayed.

"We don't know her real name." I said. "We all only know her as "Paper Star." All we know about her origin story is that she's from Tokyo, Japan. We don't know how she ended up at V.I.LE. Academy. She has the ability to turn origami into weapons. It might create a mess, but we'll take all we've got."
