Natalie woke up to the pleasing chirping of the birds outside her window. She didn't get up from her bed immediately but instead chose to lay down for a while and let the peace of the morning sink in. She had chosen white and golden theme for her bedroom. The window right over her bed showed her the driveway to the inn. Her wardrobe and dressing table were to the right of her bed. There was a huge french window to her left. It offered her a splendid view of the mountains. Natalie loved gazing out of the windows the first thing in the mornings while having a cup of coffee. Oh how she loved the mornings in Stone Isle! Just the perfect way to start a new day. Especially since how the last night ended.... her mind reminded her.
Natalie winced. Just the reminder of the previous night was utterly humiliating! "Oh what on Earth was I even thinking" she moaned throwing back the covers and getting out of the bed. Maybe she should just stay in her room all day Natalie thought. Like a coward! Natalie still felt so confused about last night. She had almost kissed Derek, who was not only her guest but also the guy who wanted to buy her out. It was so unlike her to be so impulsive.
"Alright enough of it!" Natalie scolded herself. "I will not hide in my room. I did nothing wrong. I just need to calm down." Taking a deep breath she went to take a bath. Time to get this day started...
After a while....
"Hmmmmmmm...Did I tell you that you're the most amazing cook Nats!" Jason said. "These pancakes are simply delicious!" he exclaimed.
Natalie smiled. "Want some more honey to go with them?" she asked Jason.
"Oh absolutely!" Jason replied with a mouthful.
Natalie,Jason and Ruth had all gathered in the dining room to have their breakfast. It was sort of a ritual whenever Jason returned back here. They would all begin their day together. Natalie was already done with her breakfast and so was her aunt, who was now reading the newspaper.
"Give him some more pancakes Natalie." Ruth ordered looking up from her paper. "That boy gets thinner each year he comes back! City life is no good for him!" she chided.
"That's right Ruth!" Jason spoke taking another bite from his plate. "Didn't you hear your aunt Natalie? Get this boy here some more of those yummy pancakes now!" he laughed.
