"Hello there?" A high sweet voice greets from behind me.

Adrenaline shot through my limbs like fire as those words hung in the air for what felt like hours, who was it? It sounded feminine but I can't be sure it's a woman, did they know me? Did they know Dream? Billions of questioned dashed across my brain to the sound of my racing heart beat. The voice spoke again,

"Uh did you hear me? Are you alright, do you need a place to stay?" The unknown person questioned me, and only now noticing the slight German accent. The adrenaline still pumping through my veins and I turned around slowly to face the mystery person behind me.

I was greeted with a small woman, I think, with  blonde just below shoulder length hair and bright honey brown eyes. She looked about my age or maybe younger, she wore a tulip pink knee length fairy dress with off the shoulder sleeves, and flowers in her braided hair. She was holding a woven basket filled with berries and asortment of flowers that resembled a sunset palette. She held a kind smile laced with concern, her presence was motherly and caring, who was she?

"I, uh, am I on your land? I can just leave, I'm really sorry uh, I'll just get going then." I stuttered a little to much in that sentence then I would have wanted, her beauty was so what distracting.  She quickly shook her head and relied,

"Oh no, this isn't my land don't worry, I was just passing by to get some berries and other things. Are you alright, you seem awfully nervous?" How did this woman one, not know  me in the slightest and two, still make me feel like I've known her for the longest of lifetimes?! "Oh and how rude of me! My name is Niki, it's a pleasure to meet you...." Leaving the sentence open for my name she politely waits for my answer.

"Y/n, my name is Y/n." I reply toppling over my words slightly, she returns with a small smile and nods her head. Niki then checks her basket counting the contents and walking a few steps forward until her back is facing me. She then turns and asks,

"Are you hungry? My bakery isn't to far away and it's pretty late." Oh my, of course she owns a bakery, this woman is the definition of what home would look and act like. I turn to the direction of my house and think, it's only for a few hours. Turning back towards Niki and smile back,

"Sure why not?" She gives me a look of joy and walks up to me, "Then let's get going Friend!" Niki grabs my hand and gently pulls me along the path towards her bakery, her hand is soft and smooth as it intertwines with my own. Looks like I have a new friend! I hope Dream won't mind..

The walk to Niki's bakery wasn't long but was filled with conversations about everything and anything that came to mind, she asked questions about what I liked, who I met, how long I was here for, my interests, my dislikes, if I lived close by, which nation I lived in, if I had any pets, what my favourite pastries were, favourite food, favourite colour, favourite animal, everything.

She looked so invested in what I had to say, she was so genuine it took me by surprise how enthusiastic she was to get to know me. Not even Dream was this devoted to listening to every detail I had about myself. It was like a breath of fresh air, the spring kind when flowers bloom and everything comes to life. It was honestly only about me which I felt like I was being self-centred while doing so, but she kept ensuring me that it wasn't and she genuinely wanted to know and promised she would tell me about herself once we got to the bakery.

The bakery was about 15 minutes away from where we met, the bakery which itself looked like she belonged here, a medium sized brick building with nature growing on the walls and an open window to show the delights that it served there. It was very similar to a cottage, which made it even more resemble a place you would call home. I vaguely remember seeing it when I was out with Dream but he skimmed over this area quite quickly that day.

She led me along the path to her bakery where we finally approached the door after admiring the outside being illuminated by lanterns that hung from posts along the dirt road now that I could get a closer look at it. The inside was warm, fresh pastries filled my nose, fresh loads of bread were laid on stands above many more kinds of baked goods that made me drool. I was absolutely awe struck.

  I was absolutely awe struck

"Wow Niki, Did you make all of these yourself?" They looked absolutely divine, each pastry looked delicious and beautifully baked to perfection.

"I get a bit of help collecting ingredients from my friends but yes I did make it myself!" The wide smile could be heard from the pride evident in her voice. This was incredible, I could stay here all day and never get bored of this beautiful place. She continued to lead me through the shop, watching my face light up at the peacefulness of every little detail. I've never seen a place so pretty.

She stops us at some sliding glass doors at the back of the shop, leading to a small green house and garden where I presume she grows all her ingredients for her baking.

Alright, who is this woman and why is she so perfect?! Everything here feels like it's to surreal, I don't know how Niki manages to keep it so clean and tidy while baking everyday. Some sort of Wonder Woman maybe?

"You like it?" She asks while gazing at the dimly lit greenhouse in front of us, a small smile planted on her lips.

"Of course I do! I don't know how you manage to keep everything looking this good while having a million things on your schedule everyday." She chuckled at my praising and grabs both of my hands in hers, she looks at me with pleased eyes.

"I'm glad you like it, I really hope you can come here often!" She was beaming, just the fact that I liked it got her happy was comforting, seeing her happy made me happy. I definitely will enjoy coming here again with her.

"Absolutely!" I smiled twice as wide, matching her energy as we made our way back inside to talk more.
