Savannah's POV:
I can't believe Kylie right now. She knows she has feelings for Niall. Its blatantly obvious. You can just see the way those two look at each other, how she lights up when he's in the room. And he's the same way.
"I'm going for a walk," an Irish voice said, angrily. Niall. I shushed Kylie who was babbling on about something and strained to hear the voice. But all I heard was a loud slam, and then silence.
Ky and I exchanged curious glances. What the hell happened to Niall? He couldn't have heard what Kylie said...no. Not possible. But I could tell that she was thinking the same thing.
I turned the doorknob and cracked open Kylie's door a little bit. I looked left, and looked right. No one was around. There was no way Niall heard anything.
We pounded down the stairs to see all the boys sitting around on the couch, looking just as surprised and curious as we were. Well, all the boys accept Niall.
"What happened to him?" Kylie began to ask, nervously.
"He just said he was going on a walk...but that's always his excuse when a girl--" Harry stopped, and I noticed all attention directed towards my best friend.
"Kylie...what happened between you guys?" Liam asked, his brown eyes full of concern.
"Nothing," she said, defensively. "I thought we were fine."
Doesn't seem that way.
"I'll go after him," Zayn offered.
"I think we should all go," Louis suggested. The boys nodded in agreement, and started out the door after the Irish boy.
I glanced at Kylie, who looked nervous, almost guilty.
"Kylie..." I started. "If something happened, you can tell me." I told her, reassuringly.
"You know how I've always had trouble getting close to people, right?" Ky asked me, avoiding my gaze. I nodded my head.
"Not everyone's like Michael," I told her. I could see Kylie's eyes squeeze shut, trying to forget the painful memory.
When Kylie was in 8th grade, she had her first real relationship. They dated for 8 months, and he only wanted to get in her pants. When she refused, the kid ended up breaking her heart, and she was devastated. She hasn't been able to let herself fall for anyone else ever again.
I shuddered, trying to shake the thought out of my mind. It was only 8th grade, but I had never seen her so upset. I hope she never has to go through that again.
But with Niall, it was different. I trusted him, she trusted him. And that probably scared the shit out of her.
"I know, Michael was just immature," she said. "But I don't want to go through that again."
"I know, but Niall's--"
"different." She finished for me.
"If you can't let yourself get close to anyone, how are you going to fall in love? Get married? Have kids?" I asked her.
"You're right," Kylie said. "But Niall's an internationally known celebrity. There's no way he would go for someone like me. Plus I barely know him.." Kylie trailed off. I could tell she really liked him. But I had to agree with the fact that this situation was risky.

Niall's POV:
I looked back at the house, my face red with anger. I couldn't believe she said that.
"Niall! Niall!" I squinted at the four figures walking around aimlessly calling my name. Shit, they couldn't find me.
I started running, and didn't stop until I couldn't see the shadows behind me. I saw a busier street and lights up ahead so I kept going.
I stopped by an old-fashioned diner and opened the door, panting heavily. I sat down, finally being able to rest my legs.
"Long night?" The waitress asked me, with a sypathetic smile. Her name tag read "Stephanie."
"You don't even know..." I told her, shaking my head.
"Are you from Ireland?" she asked me, pulling a pad and pen out of her apron.
"Yeah, from a small town called Mullingar," I told her, forcing a smile.
"I think I've heard of it," Stephanie told me. "I have family out in Dublin."
We made small talk for a little bit, and I noticed some of her beautiful features. She had light blonde hair that looked unnaturally curled. she wore a bit more makeup than I'd usually like, but she seemed genuine. Her lips were always curved up in a smile.
"So what would you like?" she asked, looking at the menu that was lying in front of me.
"I'll just have a glass of water...and..." I paused, scanning the menu. I looked up at Stephanie.
"Surprise me," I told her, flashing a smile. She returned the gesture and nodded her head. The waitress turned on her heels and headed towards the kitchen.
A few minutes later, Stephanie came back with a glass of water in hand.
"Thanks," I said as she placed it on my table. "Wanna sit down?"
Stephanie, almost too quickly, agreed and sat down on the other side of the booth.
"So, tell me about yourself," I proposed, flirtatiously.
What am I doing? What about Kylie?
I was about to get up and leave, until I remembered the words that had come out of her mouth just an hour or so earlier. If I'm so meaningless, I can flirt with whoever the hell I want. Not like that kiss meant anything.
"Well," the blonde waitress began. "My parents grew up in Ireland and I was born and raised in Ohio. I moved here to Chicago when I was 12, and have lived here ever since. I danced throughout high school, but quit because it got boring."
"Oh, cool." I said, trying to sound interested. She was a nice girl, but kind of boring for my taste.
"What about you?" Stephanie asked me, but she seemed uninterested.
"Well, I'm Niall. I grew up in Ireland and tried out for The X-Factor in 2010. I made it, but got cut before the judge's houses. So Simon Cowell put me and four other lads together as a group. We came in third, but got signed anyway. So we've been touring a lot lately and we have the month off."
I saw Stephanie completely perk up somewhere during that littie story. Probably when she realized who I was and that I have more money than most average 19 year olds. I rolled my eyes.
"i should get going, the lads are probably wondering where I am," I said. I left her a tip and got up to leave, not caring about my food.
"What about your food?" Stephanie asked me, looking disappointed.
"I-I'm not hungry anymore," I stuttered.
"Wait!" I heard Stephanie call as I was halfway out the door. I turned around and before I had any time to react, she had forcefully pressed her lips right to mine. Coincidentally right as paparazzi showed up right by the diner. Flash.
I should have known.
