Niall's POV:

"We need to follow that ambulance," I said, tears flowing from my eyes. Harry patted my back, trying his hardest to stay strong for me. They all knew how much she meant to me, and she meant a lot to them as well.

"I'm going to call Savannah," Liam said. I looked at him, surprised. They haven't spoken in a month. Liam's focused face stared down at his phone, his daddy slowly creeping out. He knew he had to be the peace maker in this situation. If he couldn't keep his calm than no one could.

"Savannah. It's Liam. We just pulled up to Kylie's house and there are paramedics here. They just pulled her onto a stretcher and they're taking her to the hospital. I just wanted to let you know because I know Ky would want you here. Call me when you get this," Liam tried to hide the shakiness in his voice. "I miss you, Savannah." and then he hung up.

We got into the car and followed the ambulance to the hospital. We went inside and told the receptionist why we were here.

"Are you family?" She asked, peering at us over the top of her glasses.

"Well, not exactly," I said, avoiding her harsh gaze.

"Then you can't go in. Sorry," and just like that, she looked back at her computer. We sat in the waiting room.

Not minutes after we sat down, a tan, toned, and slightly taller Savannah came bursting through the door. She talked to the receptionist lady, who directed her towards us.

Savannah walked over uneasily, not making eye contact with Liam.

Her face was stained with tears and she wasn't sure whether she should be happy to see us or scared.

"H-hey guys," she stammered, getting ready sitting down next to me.

"Hey Sav!" I said cheerily, trying to overcompensate for the fact that this was the gloomiest place possible.

"Hey Niall. How are you?" She asked, standing up to give me a warm embrace.

"Well, I've been better..." I trailed off, trying to stay calm.

All the boys stood up, including Liam, to hug her. Their hug was a lot shorter and more awkward. I shook my head and sighed. They deserved each other, and to see that they weren't together was absolutely heartbreaking.

We made small talk in the waiting room for about 2 hours or so, before a doctor came out and explained to us what was going on.

"Kylie's on life support right now. She's been slipping in and out of consciousness. We performed a successful surgery on her heart, but that may not be enough to keep her alive. When she was alert enough, she told me about her battle with anorexia and bulimia. She's very lucky to have even survived this long. You guys can come in one at a time to see her, but I can't guarantee she'll talk back or even know you guys are here. If she makes it through the next 24 hours, she'll be okay. But her chances aren't very good, kids. I'm sorry. "

Her chances aren't very good, kids.

I never thought I would have to hear that about anyone, let alone Kylie. I walked into the room knowing quite well that this could be the last time I would ever see her.

Harry went in first, then Zayn, and Louis and Liam. All of them came back with tear-stained faces.

"She couldn't talk back," they had all said.

Savannah's POV:

I couldn't believe this was happening to my best friend. My partner in crime. Without her, I don't know what I'd be able to do.

I walked in, and saw a frail, sickly Kylie attached to all these machines and breathing tubes. She looked like a robot.

I went and sat down next to her.

"Kylie. I don't know if you can hear me, or if you even know I'm here. But I just wanted to say I'm sorry for everything. It was all my fault. I never should have left you. If you die right here you can blame me. That stupid movie roll was the dumbest decision I've ever made. I'm so sorry Kylie. Please stay with me.  I don't think I can function without you. You're my best friend, and if I lost you I don't know what I would do. There's so much I have to tell you. We all need you, Kylie. You're the glue that holds everything together. I love you, Ky. You're my sister. Keep fighting, kiddo."

By this time I was bawling.

This is probably the last time I would ever see my best friend alive. And she probably didn't even know I was there.

I took one last look at her pale face before walking out. A single tear rolled down her cheek. And I knew she heard me.

Niall's POV:

Savannah walked out, sobbing uncontrollably. Liam was the first to run to her, comforting her in his embrace while she cried onto his shirt. "Shhh, shh," he would say, resting his chin on her head.

I walked in the room and the Kylie I saw was not the same Kylie that had been around a couple months ago. She had lost a significant amount of weight. Her hair was falling out and her skin was almost see-through. She looked so weak, so vulnerable. There was a scar on her forehead that wasn't there last time I saw her.

"Kylie. I'm so sorry we left you like this. I had no idea that you were this sick. I should have come back, I shouldn't even have gone in the first place. This is all my fault. You're too beautiful to be this sick. You're flawless, Ky. And I love you so much." I bent over her and a tear fell from my cheek onto hers. I kissed her perfect little lips one last time. And I could feel her kiss back.

Not seconds later, a machine started beeping and doctors came running in.

"You need to leave, Son." They told me, pushing me out the door like I was nothing.
