The day of the cooking competition finally came, students roamed about the campus and went on like it was normal, yet I waited patiently at my dining room, looking at the TV as I eagerly yearned for the news.
Everything was set in place, all that was left was for the show to finally begin.
[Third person P.O.V]
They say that a cub who've lost its parents and survives on its own, end up being fiercer than others of its kind.
The girl who wanted to understand other's pain if it will help them ease it had now completely disappeared.
Once she had lost all that made her what she is to this vile world's violence, she became blinded by the very thing she dared never touch, the wretched sweetness of revenge and the bitter comfort of hatred.
Oblivious to her wicked schemes done out of hate, the students went their ways on a normal school day, peaceful and surreal, like how her life once was, and similarly, it will now be stained with blood.
-In a closed room, a kitchen of some sort, stood a man on his own-
"Haaah, damn it! My partner got sick yesterday, now I have to do all this crap on my own, it was weird he got a huge stomachache out of nowhere and collapsed at the spot, ended up not coming to school at all and leaving me to do all the dirty work"
"Ah I'm pissed! I didn't get to do it with that minako girl last week and my eye's a mess, she had such good proportions too, ugh nevermind, maybe that bitch will let me do the eldest next time, haha that'll be a blast"
Caught up in his own world, he failed to notice the door he entered in was none other than death's itself, the stage of his demise was set in place, it was now time for his disappearing act.
Ignorant of his mistake, the sparks that signaled the sonata of the play has now ignited the hellfire of his misery.
"What the? When did the cupboard catch fire? Ugh! *coughs*"
Too late in realizing that something other than the stove was burning, the fire has already spread across the other side of the room, he immediately tried splashing it with water, but that only made it worse.
Having no option left, he tried to run for the door, only for it to refuse letting him out.
"What the! Why the hell is it not budging? Don't tell me it's stuck! Fuck! Someone help!'
The echoes of his cries reached far and wide, but no matter how much he screamed, no one heard his voice for they were occupied in the events of the schools agenda.
At the same time, in the school rooftop...
"Ah I feel refreshed, that wench has nothin on me now, ah I should've recorded the look on her face when she found out about her sister's death, not only that but apparently the younger one also died of an overdose due to stress yesterday, lucky!"
She was cheering to herself, giving it self-praise, yet no matter how much she tried to look contented, all that was inside her mind right now was nothing but emptiness.
'Beth! They're minors! No matter how you look at it that's too much!'
She can hear the echoes of her friend's voice, something welled up inside her, it made her consider what would've happened if she had listened to her friend.
"Shaddup! I can do what I want!" she yelled at thin air, waiting for an answer.
'I can't believe you! Were you the one behind yuugure minako's death!? This is a life we're talking about beth! You've crossed the line!'
"Fuck off! If you don't like it then just leave me alone!"
Annoyed at her pathetic state she decided to go to her favorite spot, leaning her back against the chicken wire fencing in the rooftop.
"That's right! It's not my fault yah hear!"
But that was a grave mistake, for the pillar that supported her weight gave out with ease, almost as if it was just temporarily attached there.
Before she could comprehend what was happening, her arm unconsciously grabbed on to one of the metal railing outlines below the fence.
She smiled, deciding to relax now that she thought she was safe.
"That was close- arghhh!!!!!!"
It took a second before her body could comprehend what had happened to her, at first she didn't notice it, but the moment she looked at her hand that was grabbing on to the railing, all the pain started kicking in.
Because of the heat of the moment, she hadn't realized that the ledge she grabbed on to had a bunch of protruding nails hammered to it, which was now gauged at her right hand.
"Argghhhh!! It hurts!"
She tried screaming but no one heard her, all she could do was slowly climb up.
But that in itself was a futile act of desperation, for as if to mock her, the moment she tried to climb up, the railing purposely gave out, shattering the little faith she had left.
Slowly falling to her death, time slowed down, her life flashed before her eyes.
'No! please! I'll be a good girl from now on! I'll do anything! Just don't let me die!'
Just then, the scene hit her with a sense of familiarity, she thought of the innocent girl whose life she took, whose family she ruined, and right now, without a doubt it was the same reenactment.
And that very girl is laughing at her now as she meets a similar play of fate.
'Fuck! This is all because I messed with that wench huh?'
*Thud!Splat!*
That was all that was ever heard, the sound that presented the grand finale, the final act that gave way to the curtain fall, with that, the credits roll and the play of judgment has ended.
And the lone spectator, watching from afar in her TV room, smiled with contentment as she had done her part.
