[Shirano's P.O.V]

"04-23-08, #47 [Failure]"

The cold serial number's vivid descriptions hanged amidst the torn label, traces of this place's inhumane cruelty lay limp beyond the glass cage, unmoving.

Humanity had always been catalyst for their own demise, losing more than they could ever gain in the pursuit of what they believe to be the truth.

Ignorance is bliss, discarding everything for the sake of curiosity is no different than stupidity which results in only one outcome.

The conclusion? Nothing but a dystopia of their own making.

"Buk buk buk buk ba-gawk!"

Shirano gazes at the amalgamation that lay before her, foul-odored patches of raw meat pulsed and throbbed, growing larger with each passing moment as it spreads like a rampant plague.

The heavy scent of blood and decay filled the air, a sickening testament to the abomination's nightmarish metamorphosis as newly found limbs distorted and multiplied, some merging together in a macabre fusion while others sprouted anew in a disorganized frenzy.

The girl wouldn't have recognized the creature if it weren't for it's pitiful cries of agony.

One step and the tap of her shoes echo loudly amongst her frightened companions, a single trot demanding that none should take action except for her.

*Tsk- ka-chink!*

The nozzle hovers as her hand firmly grips the handle, a sigh of pity escapes her lips before her fingers gently pull the trigger.

*Bang!*

The noises cease as once brilliant white feathers turned dull are now sullied by the stains of red, scattering with the wind fleetingly.

No more clucking, no more screams... at last the creature's agony had finally ended.

With a flick, shirano closes the light that laid bare to the room's cruel sight, casting the soft embrace of darkness as the shadows engulf all that remained of the gruelling scene.

"Shirano, that...."

"Senpai, was that... an experiment?"

As meek voices barely come out amidst their shaking lips, shirano locks the door to the glass cage and walks further towards the desk, frantically searching the drawer hosting a pile of research notes.

"A custom made meat factory, it's no wonder hidsburgh was able to supply the constant demands for products, what do you think employee girl?"

"That's....I'm sorry, that's beyond ryan and I"

"Shelly's right... the old hidsburgh was an unspoken taboo amongst the employees, well more of a myth rather than a forbidden topic....although I can't be certain if the current industry is any different "

As tension filled the air and a sense of dread loomed over the conflicted group, horaiji gently settles numerous papers unto the table.

"Indeed, when it comes to such arduous tasks with the preceding sense of failure, one would be tempted to confide in such methods, even if it may be a deal with the devil himself"

Horaiji shuffles the notes with a scoff, presenting them for the whole group to see as kianna just grows even more confused, unable to keep up with the sudden turn of events.
