[Mei's P.O.V]
We trotted through the blinding heights of the buildings we came across, narrowly making it through every jump we made.
The sight of what lurked bellow always made me held my breath, gulping in fear of the mistake I've yet to make.
Despite all that, there was this remarkable amount of confidence from the one I followed in front of me, giving me a sense of comfort as I watched her effortlessly traverse from one difficult stunt to the other.
Kianna and I were by no means unfit, we were together for quite some time when disaster struck, so I've engraved her capabilities to my mind, but this person was beyond that.
Shirano senpai.... Not only did she know which route to take, she also managed to explain things properly to kianna, something even I had a hard time doing.
"senpai... are we close?" I inquired as I was running out of breath, I didn't know how much longer I can last, I can't stop thanking my past self for maintaining my fit body as I lamented over this difficult situation.
"Don't worry, it won't take long now, should be just ahead the next corner" she answered, unfazed and not slowing down even a little, completely focused on the task at hand.
"Hey shirano! Is that it!? Pretty fancy for a house yah got there!" Kianna yelled, bursting with energy, despite being as tired and out of breath as I was.
As soon as we were in the vicinity, she gave the signal to make us stop, we sat down to listen to what she had to say, giving me time to catch my breath.
"Alright girls, listen, as much as I want to open the front gate, the corpses over there have other ideas, so I've got a plan.."
She made a worried look and sighed as she tried to be as blunt as possible, indirectly telling me that this was going to be difficult.
"Okay, I'll be straightforward, I need one of you to act as bait to distract the horde and gather them to a different house, as much as I want to do it myself for higher success, only I know the lock combinations and passwords to the gate, making you two memorize it would be a waste of time, if you make a mistake, an alarm would go off and its game over"
"You two don't have to rush, think this through carefully, I'll be fine with either options since there are likely to be better choices in the long run, but keep in mind, there's no guarantee"
Both me and kianna fell silent, the safe place we've been chasing is right in front of us, yet we have to make a tough choice right off the bat.
"Fine.... I'll do it" Kianna raised her hand voluntarily as I was too slow to make a choice, forcing me to rely on her yet again.
'You idiot, you never think things through, don't you? Kiana chan?'
"But... it's too risky, worst case scenario, all three of us get done in by the horde should any of us make a mistake... isn't there any other way senpai?"
Out of desperation, I panicked and voiced my opinions.
"There is a slightly less risky option, having you two act as both baits, but it's unlikely that you would accept that."
"Senpai... im not sure I follow, how would that change anything? If anything, wouldn't it be riskier instead"
I asked, I was baffled at what she meant.
"Think about it, having you two lead the horde would mean you can divide them and confuse them, giving you both a better chance of success since they would have to go different directions, although failure would mean we wouldn't get any other chances"
