"Once upon a time, there was a sapphire hunter who couldn't attack a monster. No matter how hard she tried to attack, she couldn't bring herself to harming one at all and ended up letting them go. Everyone looked down on her as she used to hunt the monsters and turned their back on her except for her handler and her partner. One day, she was requested by her handler to hunt a Viper Kadachi with her partner, Tinker. She couldn't decline it so she reluctantly accepted. They searched and searched to no avail until suddenly, she was attacked and kidnapped by a monster! Her partner tried to save her but it ran away, with the poor sapphire hunter in its jaws. She has been gone for 4 years after the incident and we still haven't found tracks for her or the monster." Explained Triana after telling the story to her group.

"Well, if she's gone for 4 years she could've been killed!" Cory said, eating his second lunch.

"No no, silly! She's still alive! Just that there aren't any frequent tracks of her wandering around." Lara explained, twiddling her fingers.

"No worries, Lara. We might find her eventually." Triana reassured her. The entrance to the cafeteria curtains moved and Hooper entered.

"Hey guys, y'all found any tracks o' the Sapphire Hunter?" Hooper asked.

"You're back from hunting Raging Brachy?" Lara asked, surprised.

"Yeah, monsters like the Raging Brachydios are easy to deal with! Except for that goldilocks wannabe dragon."

"You mean the Kulve Taroth?" Lara asked, confused.

"Yea, she ain't easy to deal with." Hooper replied.

"Anyways, to answer what you said, yes. But however, not much..."

"Awww, it's okay Lara! At least we're together!" Cory said, reassuringly and happily at the same time. Lara giggled.

"Now's not the time! We've got a Sapphire Hunter to save. Tinker's probably still worried for her."

"No need to get so serious, Tri!" Cory said, full of carefreeness

"Serious? SERIOUS?! This IS a SERIOUS THING!!" Triana yelled, angrily.

"Calm down, Tri. No need to get hotheaded." Hooper said, putting his hand on her shoulder.

"Wh- But- Fine." Triana said in an angry tone, crossing her arms and looking in another direction.

"Good. Now, what do y'all know bout the tracks so far? Cory, you go first." Hooper said, pointing his hand at Cory.

"Hmmmmmm, I'm not so sure but i did find some footprints alongside a Viper Kadachi!" Cory plainer enthusiastically.

"Anything else?"

"Hmmmm, nope! That's all I could find! Though, the tracks for the hunter did  end though I'm not so sure why..." Cory rambled on and on.

"Okay that's enough, Cory." Cory stopped rambling immediately. "Sorry, Hoop." Cory embarrassingly said, chuckling.

"Its fine. Now Lara, found anything?" Hooper asked, turning his head to Lara.

"Oh, uh let's see..." Lara took her large notebook off of the sling and skimmed through the pages.

"It should be around here somewhere.....found it! So, what I found so far are some fish scraps belonging to a human and a Viper Kadachi. The human might be the hunter!"

"Okay... but why are there Viper Kadachi tracks following the Sapphire Hunter?"

"I'm not so sure...." Lara said, scratching her head.

"Well, for one thing, they might be following them. But then again, not possible."

"And why is that?" Hooper asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, because the tracks were both fresh when I found them."

"WHAT?!" Cory yelled slamming his hands onto the table and standing up. He looked at his friends then at the palicos working at the cafeteria.

"Sorry." Cory apologised, coughing a bit before sitting down.

"Huh, so tracks that are fresh... I think the target that we have to save has bonded with the Viper Kadachi, but that's impossible..."

"And why is that, Hooper?" Triana asked.

"Well, because the only ones that can do that are riders with their....'magical' blue stone." Hooper said, using his fingers to demonstrate air quotes.

"Kinship stones." Lara corrected him.

"Yes, those things." Hooper said.

"Anything else?" Hooper asked again.

"Negative." Lara replied.

"Now, Triana. What did you find?" Hooper finally asked her.

"Well, let's see... I found some dead bodies of some popos outside of our campsite. There were Viper Kadachi marks along with some unnatural gashes. It might be a great sword due to how large the cuts were."

"Anything else?" He asked

"Yes, for one thing." Triana replied.

"What is it?" Hooper asked, tilting his head slightly.

"A dead Barioth."
