"A what now?" Hooper asked again, with a shocked look on his face and slightly standing up
"A dead Barioth in area 5."
"Impossible." Hooper silently said, sitting back down with a thinking and surprised look on his face.
"Lara, write this down and report it to the commission." Ordered Hooper.
"Yes, sir!" Lara immediately took her pen and started to write on the paper filled with notes on the sapphire hunter.
"Triana, go report to the ecological team!"
"Yes, sir!" Triana saluted before immediately exitting the cafeteria into the cold and snowy surroundings of Seliana.
"Cory, go find Tinker and dispatch for an expedition immediately."
"Do I have to?" Cory whined.
"Yes, I'll treat you to dinner." Hooper replied.
"Alright!" Cory immediately rushed out of the cafeteria to find Tinker.
Cory stepped out of the cafeteria and immediately felt the cold and chilling blast into his camera face.
"Brrr! A cold night we're having!" Cory said, rubbing his hands. He walked around, past well-illuminated areas before reaching the entrance to the gathering hub. He pushed the doors wide open and entered, making sure he closed them after entering. It was a pretty lively place, with a lot of hunters hanging around drinking and sitting in hot springs. Some were dipping their legs into the water with some of their palicos resting on their laps. He noticed Zay, who was talking to Sean while carrying his palico, Flanker.
"Hey, have you two seen Tinker?" Cory asked the two, walking up to them.
"Oh hey Cory!" Zay greeted.
"Heyo. Also, no. Haven't seen her around." Sean replied.
"Oh, Tink! She's sulking in her room hanging around with her butterflies. I don't know why she did that because they might die from hypothermia but I guess her choice?" Zay said, caressing Flanker's head.
"That reminds me," Cory turned to look at Sean. "Where's your palico?" He asked.
"Oh, Recon? He's helping around the ecological team, sorting books and what-nots." Recon answered.
"Oh, okay. Thanks by the way!" Cory said before walking away to Tinker's room. Sean gave a thumbs up while Zay continued to talk to Sean.
Meanwhile......
Triana hurried over to the ecological team, not noticing Recon carrying books. All of a sudden, she tripped over Recon causing her to tumble down to the ground. The books that Recon was carrying were now scattered everywhere.
"Oh dear! Need help Triana?" A voice asked, reaching their hand out. Triana looked up and saw Ruby, along with Tommy.
"Thanks." Triana said, grabbing Ruby's hand and pulling herself up.
"Hey! Don't furrget about mew!" Recon yelled angrily, crossing his paws and aggressively tapping the ground with his foot. Triana turned around to face Recon.
"Oh, sorry Recon. Let me help." Triana offered.
"Its okay." Recon said, turning down the offer and picking back up the dropped piles of books.
"So, why are you two here?" Triana asked, turning back around.
"Oh, us? We're just helping the ecological team with the books." Ruby replied, hugging her boyfriend's arm.
"Yeah, just thought we could contribute by helping." Tommy said, with a warm smile on his face.
"Where's Jerry and Bloom?" Triana asked, looking around.
"Them? Oh well, uh-."
"Hey Triana." A voice said behind Ruby and Tommy. Ruby and Tommy looked behind and saw Jerry, accompanied by Bloom.
"Oh, hey Jerry and Bloom."
"What do you need help with?" Jerry asked in a innocent tone.
"Well, I have to tell you something."
"About what?" Bloom asked.
"Well, there's a dead Barioth in area 5."
"A what now?!" Tommy yelled.
"It might just be old age." Jerry remarked.
"It wasn't. There were viper kadachi bite marks and great sword-like cuts."
"Oh, that might be the Sapphire Hunter." Bloom guessed.
"Judging by what you said about the bite marks and cuts, it might just be a rider." Jerry said.
"Explain this then." Triana opened her pouch and took out a sampled item, giving it to Jerry. He opened it And it was a strand of pink hair.
"Oh. Yeah, I think you'll have to go on another search expedition." Jerry recommended.
"I guess, unless if Hooper assigned that to Cory." Triana said. Just as she said that, Cory, who was a few meters away, walked past them.
"You're right about that one. I see Cory and Tinker heading to the gates of Seliana." Bloom pointed out.
"Huh. I'll go report to Hooper then." Triana said before briskly walking away.
Back to Cory
"What if you get kidnapped just like her?" Tinker said, concerned.
"No worries, I'll be fine! If the dead barioth killed was by the viper kadachi and Sapphire Hunter we might just find them!" Cory enthusiastically said, despite the fact he said that the Sapphire Hunter might be dead a few minutes ago.
"If you say so..." Tinker muttered. Cory whistled for a wingdrake and lifts his right arm, which has a grappling hook attached to it. He immediately grappled onto the wingdrake's leg and flew off. Tinker did the same thing.
"So, hoarfrost reach?" Tinker asked, as she caught up to Cory's wingdrake.
"Yeah. Apparently there's a dead Barioth at area 5." Cory replied.
"Well, we better hurry I guess." Tinker said in a monotone voice.
"That's great! Let's go!" Cory's wingdrake sped to one of the hoarfrost reach campsites.
"Wait up!" Tinker yelled as she tried to keep up.
