13. Lost And Found

At Night...

Borealis and Razor were hiding out inside their cave, feasting on the food they caught. Razor finished early and is, well, happy.

"Finished?" She asked, with a doting smile. Razor nodded, his head shaking extremely fast. She giggled.

"Well, that's a good thing." Borealis said, finishing her's. Razor jumped up and down in excitement. She giggled.

"Calm down!" she said, giggling. Razor stopped to yawn for a bit before laying down, allowing Borealis to lie on him.

"Tired already?" She asked, smiling. Razor didn't respond and simply fell asleep. She chuckled.

"Well, I ought so." She said before making herself comfortable. The fire crackled and danced about as she fell into a deep slumber. However, she made a terrible mistake to not put out the fire before falling asleep.

Meanwhile...

Cory's group was readying up to go for another expedition in Hoarfrost Reach.

"Are we ready, group?" Hooper asked.

"Yes." The group replied in unison.

"Well then, let's go." He said. The group walked to the alighting and landing area and whistled. they lifted their grappling hooks and grappled onto the wingdrakes. They flew into the night sky, the moon shining.

"Well, it's a great thing there aren't any blizzards today otherwise we'd have a LOT more problems." Hooper said.

"Right about that, Hoop!" Cory said. After a while, the group reaches camp, landing and ungrappling the wingdrakes. They drank some hot drinks before running out to find some tracks. Lara stayed back however since she forgot to write some notes. So, Hooper, Cory, and Triana went out of camp to find some tracks to report back to the commission.

"I'll go this way. Triana, you go that way, and Cory, you go that way. Got it?" Hooper ordered.

"Yes, sir!" They said before running off into the directions that Hooper pointed at.

Cory ran around, collecting any tracks that match The Sapphire Hunter and The Viper Kadachi. Suddenly, the scoutflies picked up tracks of The Sapphire Hunter and headed to somewhere. Cory ran after them, wondering where they will take him. After much running, he reached a cave with light inside. Immediately, he took out his weapon and slowly approached until he reached the entrance. He took a peek inside, seeing the two asleep before sheathing his weapon. He then tip-toed in, making sure not to step on something that might cause him to fall or make noise, and saw The Sapphire Hunter snugly laying on the Viper Kadachi.

"Well, this will be difficult." Cory whispered to himself. He then carefully and cautiously walked over, making sure to not step on the Viper Kadachi. Once he did get close to her, he ran into another problem.

"Hmm, how do I remove her from this...monster without getting caught?" He asked himself. He then looked at The Sapphire Hunter's sword, getting an idea from it. He then walked over and grabbed the sword before walking back. He then attempts to swap the sword with her, succeeding. Cory carried her out of the cave and slowly made his way back to the camp.

"Hey, Lara." Cory whispered.

"Yes, Dear? What do you-." She then looked up and saw The Sapphire Hunter.

"OH MY-." She was then silenced by Cory.

"Shhhh!" Cory said, putting a finger over her mouth. Lara nodded.

"How did you find her, though?" Lara asked.

"Scoutflies. They didn't put out the fire, though, so I found them easily."

"Ah. Well, that was a big mistake and kinda anti-climatic." Lara said.

"Yeah. I should call the rest back. Can you go watch her?" Cory asked. Lara nodded and Cory smiled.

"Thank you, sweetheart!" Cory whispered before giving Lara Borealis. Lara smiled as Cory ran out of the camp to call the others back.

"You found the Sapphire Hunter?" Triana and Hooper said simultaneously. 

"Yup and we need help to transfer her back. Who can carry someone with an arm?" Cory asked.

"...Pardon?" Triana said, confused.

"Who can carry someone with one arm?" Cory asked again, rephrasing it.

"I can." Hooper said.

"Great, cause we have to before the Viper Kadachi finds us!" Cory said.

"Alright, I can do that." Hooper said.

"Then it's settled. Cmon, let's go back!" Cory said and the three ran back, Hooper picked up Borealis and they all whistled for a wingdrake and flew back to Seliana. Afterwards, they put her in a vacant room and went back to their room to sleep.

The next day.....

Borealis woke up and stretched her arms, yawning. She opened her eyes only to see herself in an unknown area. She panicked and fell off the bed she was sitting on.

"OW!" She exclaimed. She got up, rubbing the back of her head.

"Jeez.....where am I?" She asked herself as she got up and pat herself down.

"Razor?" She asked, looking around before exiting her room. there was a crossway with three long hallways.

"Razor??? Where are you, buddy?" She called out, walking in a random direction. All of a sudden, she bumps into someone, falling.

"Ow! What the-." She then looked up and saw Dave. She then jumped up and back, trying to grab her weapon. She didn't feel anything that had a hilt. She then looked at Dave, who was confused.

"Who are you?!" She yelled out. Dave did wyverian sign language and Borealis didn't understand it until a few seconds later.

"Oh, your name is...Dave?" She asked. He nods, with a smile on his face.

"Ah, well, where's Razor?" She asked. Dave tilts his head in confusion.

"You know...a Viper Kadachi?" She said. Dave was, well, shocked. But he kept his composure and shook his head.

"Shame. I guess I'll keep looking, then? See you I guess." She said before walking away. Dave looked at Borealis, straight-up confused. She then exited and started to wander around Seliana. She looked around, confused before seeing an area full of books.

"Why would anyone put their books here..?" She asked herself.

"Yeah, why wouldn't they?" a voice also asked. She turned her head and saw Bloom and got spooked. He looked at her and chuckled.

"Scared ya, didn't I?" He asked. Borealis looked at him in disgust.

"I'm sorry. Thought I could...you know?" He said.

"It's fine." She replied, turning back to the number of books that laid on the ground.

"You're the Sapphire Hunter, right?" He asked.

"..Yeah, why do you ask?"

"It's a great thing you're back. Somebody was waiting for 4 years." Bloom softly said, looking at the books.

"...Tinker?" She asked.

"Yes, Tinker. She's been waiting for your return." Bloom said. Tears formed in Borealis's eyes but she wiped them away.

"Ah, okay. I guess I'll go find her now. Thank you, mister...?"

"Oh no, don't call me mister, just call me Bloom." He said.

"Alright, Bloom." She said before walking away.

With Razor...

Razor woke up in the cave, yawning. He thought he felt Borealis and simply got up. Instead of a light thud, he heard clattering. He turned his head and saw his buddy's great sword instead. His eyes widen, his pupils thinned and the quills on his back raised. He walked towards the weapon and sniffed it, immediately picking up her scent. He stared in the direction of where she had gone to and growled in anger, walking out and jumping before beginning to glide over and save its friend.
