When They Realize They Love You

Gale

- Katniss is ill and therefore you and Gale decide to go hunting and give half of your prey to her

- Gale and you split up as he examines his traps and you pick some berries and plants

- When you return to the meeting point, Gale gets lost in your proud and relieved smile due to amount of food you have collected

- He immediately mirrors your smile and praises you with a joke

- When you make your way back to 12, a comfortable silence surrounds you

- Gale cannot take his eyes off of you

- This is the first time you and Gale are alone

- He has thought that spending time hunting together with Katniss and you is what has made him happy, the peace inside the forest and the relief of being able to provide his family with food, learning new techniques from each other and talking about so many different things

- But now he notices that this is not the case

- Just being silent with you, just being with you at all makes his heart flatter

- Many girls at school have been interested in him over the last years and he has always declined

- You have been with him all the time, helping him during his worst times and accepting him the way he is without expecting anything in return

- He has just realized what he has taken for granted for too long

- He realizes that he never wants to lose you, that you mean far more to him than he has noticed before

- He wishes he could stay alone with you inside the forest forever, though he should actually hope for Katniss to get healthy soon, after all Katniss is his best friend

- But you are more and he has just realized that

Finnick

- He realizes it during his games; that he wants to return to you

- Over the last months many girls have always gathered around him, annoying him
- But you have been different

- You have always been kind to him, have not just looked on his outside but actually tried to get to know him

- It has drawn him to you, leading to you two spending a lot of time together, trying to ignore the death stares of the other girls

- You have never cared, only cared about him, his real self

Haymitch

- Actually it has been love at first sight, though he realizes later

- He is going hard on you, while mentoring you

- At one point he yells at you so badly that you start crying and are not able to calm down

- He feels guilty for making you cry like that and wonders why he has overreacted so much; the alcohol?

- After a while you calm down on your own and pretend that nothing has happened, continuing your preparation for the games

- He just realizes why he has been rough to you the whole time, during your first near-death experience inside the arena

- He has been scared that you would die and therefore has wanted to prepare you better than anyone else

- He cares about you more than he has wanted to admit and now he has payed the prize

- Instead of confessing his in his opinion strange feelings to you, he has made you cry without even apologizing

- He could only hope that you would return to him and give him a second chance

Peeta

- Since your first meeting, he cannot get you out of his mind

- He watches you at school (not in a creepy way) and sometimes eats lunch with you

- He realizes his feelings for you pretty quickly

- He just cannot pay attention to anything else but you, except his cakes as he wants to improve his skills even more for you

Johanna

- She does not realize it for a while

- She has noticed that something is off with her

- You are always on her mind and it drives her crazy

- It pisses her off that you come along with Katniss and torments Katniss even more

- At the Capitol she casually tries to spend as much time with you as possible

- She does not understand it herself, why she is feeling like that

- Finnick is her friend too, but with him she does not feel that way

- She finally realizes, when she talks with Katniss about the relationship of Annie and Finnick after the jabberjay attack

- "Love is weird."

Katniss

- Katniss has felt a strange connection to you, when your eyes met for the first time in district 11, but she brushes it off thinking it was because of Rue

- As you are the victor of the 73rd Hunger Games, Katniss and you meet at the Quarter Quell again

- You are a part of her alliance

- Instead of protecting and worrying for Peeta like she is supposed to, Katniss catches herself looking out for you

- She watches you secretly (not in a creepy way) and wants to spend time with you

- The act with Peeta gets harder and harder for her

- She has felt guilty before for kissing Peeta without really loving him, but now it is eating her up

- She catches herself wishing to be with you instead, while she watches you with Finnick

- She realizes how serious her feelings are after the jabberjay attack

- Peeta tries to soothe her the whole time, to no avail

- When your eyes meet, you approach her and she rests in your arms

- The feeling of safety is the strongest she has ever felt

- It feels right

- When you smile comfortingly at her and stroke her cheek, she finally realizes
