After the other three combatants had stepped out into the arena, Sin himself followed. As Sin stepped out, he was blinded by a light so powerful that it could only be done by some magical design.

Once his eyes cleared from the light that was trying to shatter his sight, Sin saw that they were in a closed area. Though when he heard that there was going to be a fight to decide which candidates would move onto the next round of testing; Sin assumed that this would be a closed test though as he was looking at the arena stands, he saw that they were bursting with spectators that were baying for the blood of those that have come to be accepted by the Academy.

This wasn't the only thing that Sin was able to notice, as he looked to the sides of the arena, he saw that weapons were lining the walls which startled him since he didn't think that this would be something that would cause death or too much harm to those who were pitted against each other.

Once again, Sin didn't have much time to think about what he had discovered since a voice soon echoed throughout the stadium. "We of Kanerra, Academy for the Arcane would like to welcome all who have chosen to participate in the first round of testing." A female voice called out and since this voice was so loud; Sin assumed that this too was designed by magic. As the voice came to an end, those sitting amongst the stands of the arena started cheering though whether it was in support of those fighting or for the blood that was about to spill; was unknown to Sin. Just as the cheering dissipated, the voice of the announcer picked up once more. "This test is designed to ensure that those who get accepted into the Academy will have the physical strength that it takes to be a Mage in battle as well as the strength to undergo the training that we will be putting you through."

As the voice disappeared once more, Sin must have missed the cue that they were starting; considering that the three other combatants charged towards the sides of the arena to claim a weapon to use in battle. Though Sin had his hidden dagger, he wished to keep that a secret unless he ultimately needed it which is what caused the young half-breed to sprint after the others.

Due to his late start at moving towards the weapons, Sin knew that he would be the last to claim one which would give him a disadvantage in this battle since those he would be fighting might take this to dispose of him. Just as Sin had foretold, the three other combatants reached the weapons first and as such they were quite speedy in their movements to claim a weapon that suited them.

The moment that they did so, Sin watched as the two elves that had entered the arena with him turned on each other as if they were wishing to be the only one of their kind to make it to the next round. Determining that they wouldn't be a threat to him, Sin focused on the human that he knew would be.

Sin knew that he wouldn't be able to get close to the weapons since his opponent was blocking the path to them and if he charged towards another section of them, he felt as if that would be exposing himself for an attack and he wasn't willing to allow his entry into the Academy to be put in jeopardy like that. "It looks as if this dagger is all that I am going to currently have to face this human!" Sin concluded as he skidded to a stop.

As the dust flew up into the air thanks to the movement of his feet, Sin watched a sneer flashed across the human's face. Knowing that he had Sin at a disadvantage, the human started pushing his way towards him and from how he was glaring at him; Sin knew that this human had forgotten about the other two beings that were fighting against one another.

Glancing towards the weapon that this stranger held within his grasp, Sin noticed that it was a sword like what many orcs use which must have been taken as a war prize by those who oversaw the Academy during the Race Wars. Knowing that the blade in his enemy's hands could be used to both stab into him as well as slash across his flesh; Sin tried to find a way that would allow him to get the upper hand, though at this moment he couldn't think of one.
