A new family

Aang had woken up from his coma like thing, he was doing fine so far. Currently we were on a Fire Nation island, disguised as Fire Nation people. Aang had joined a school, Sokka and Katara were doing whatever they normally do and Toph was being Toph.

As we speak/read Aang was hosting a rebellious party for the kids at his school. I went out, since I didn't really want to bed around 70 odd kids. I also felt like I wanted to go out into the cold night air for some time. It was night and I was walking around a near, small, forest when I heard a twig snap behind me.

Instantly, I got into a stance, but I was careful not to show my face, I looked in the direction of the noise and saw nothing, but I didn't let my guard down. I then felt a hand on my shoulder, and I turn about to blast this motherfucker's head off...but it was Zuko.

"Naoki, please hear me out" Zuko says, letting go of my shoulder. "I'm sorry I attacked you, I had no other choice, you need to understand that I didn't mean to hurt you if I did. I am sorry, please forgive me"

What I was about to do was one of the worst decisions I've ever made in my life. But I couldn't change what I was about to do.

"I'm sorry" I say, holding back tears. "My name is not Naoki, I'm Saeko. I have to go now"

I didn't want to look at his hurt face, so I turned around and began to walk off. If Zuko knows I'm here, which he does, then he might think Aang and the others are here as well. I didn't know why I said I was someone else, but I knew it would hurt Zuko enough to stop.

"Naoki! Naoki please!" Zuko runs up behind me, soft sobs were coming from him. Was he crying? Is he that hurt? "Naoki, I love you"

"...I have to go, goodbye Zuko" I say, running off.

Zuko didn't even bother to go after me. Tears were coming down my face, why did I say that? What was wrong with me? How did he find me? Did he love me, or was it so he would manipulate me to join his side?

I stopped when I came close to the cave, I wiped the tears from my face and breathed in deep breaths before going off to the cave. I saw Appa out of the corner of my eye and walked over to him.

"Naoki! Hurry, hop on!" Sokka says, gesturing for me to hop on in.

I go up to them and get in Appa, Aang then took off to the skies. To cover up what I just did and what just happened, I talked.

"What the hell were you guys doing?" I ask, looking back at the cave.

"We had a party, then the head master of the school crashed it, then we ran outside, then we saw you and now we are here" Aang says from Appa's head.

"Right..." I say, looking into the night sky.

"Naoki, why is your heart so fast, are you having a heart attack or something?" Toph asks, from her corner of the saddle.

I stayed in the corner as well, I still wasn't a big fan of heights.

"A few kids scared me in the forest, which was why I came back earlier than I thought" I lied.

"You came back because a few kids scared you?" Toph says, unimpressed as she crosses her arms.

"That and I almost ran in to Zuko" I lie again, I did run into Zuko, but they didn't need to know that.

"You almost ran into Zuko?! Thank god you're lucky you didn't, he might have known it was you" Sokka says, shifting his gaze from his schedule for a second.

"Yeah...lucky" I mumble as I look at the night sky and the clouds.

Over the next week or so, Sokka, Katara, Aang, Toph and I have been around the Fire Nation, staying and leaving places so no one would know it was us. Katara had pretended to be a river spirit for some people at a lake. Sokka had learned how to sword fight and he even got his own sword. Toph had scammed scammers for money. In the end, it was always ending in complete chaos or with us barely making it out alive.
