it was saturday morning and y/n woke up to her mum's stereo playing one of her old tapes. she smiled nd rubbed her eyes before wandering down the hallway and into the kitchen. her mum was cooking some eggs and dancing along to the music.

'morning poppet.' y/n's mother smiled.

'morning mama.' y/n returned the smile and sat down at the dining table, waiting for her breakfast and once it was placed in front of her, she scarfed it down, starving. she excused herself from her mother and headed to her room to get ready for the day and hang out with debbie. she was excited to tell her what had happened the night before. it was a good night.

y/n headed out the door and towards debbie's house. as she walked along the streets of the busy heart of queens, y/n listened to her music and smiled occasionally. as she reached the suburbs debbie lived in, y/n enjoyed the quieter scenery and basked in the warm sun. it was saturday which meant the football field. y/n was not in the mood. she walked up the steps to debbie's front door and knocked. debbie answered the door and the two ran off. debbie was staying over at y/n's for the night.

'sooo, what happened last night down at delmar's?' debbie asked, noticing a smile made its way on to y/n's face at the mention of delmar's.

'welllll. i went to delmar's and you remember how we used to go on saturday nights?' debbie hummed in response. 'well, turns out fridays are way better.' y/n smiled.

'how so?'

'well first, you have the best sandwiches in queens. second, the people there are actually cool and third, you can get high for free.' y/n giggled.

'for free?! how?' debbie exclaimed, eyes practically popping out.

'well there's these kids who apparently come along every oter friday and because it's one of their parents' stash, they're not botherd at all with money. guess his parents are loaded or he's got a job or something.' y/n shrugged. 'oh my god! you would not believe who i got high with last night!' y/n said excitedly, anticipating her best friend's shock.

'who?! spill!' debbie waited for the answer.

'peter parker.' she said.

'peter parker? as in the annoying boy who wears nerdy shirts and irritates the fuck out of you?' debbie asked, surprised.

'yep.' y/n smirked in satisfaction at her best friend's surprised expression.

'never took him for a stoner.' debbie remarked.

'neither. but apparently he only does it sometimes for stress or whatever. i don't remember heaps, i was baked.' y/n laughed.

'so you had an actual conversation with peter? your sorta enemy?' debbie laughed in disbelief.

'surprisingly yes. he came over to check if i was ok because of danny and all that and then we went back to insults. then we got high and stared at the stars. i went home late and just dozed off.' y/n recounted.

'wow, hell must have frozen over because i can not believe you guys had an actual conversation. just, wow.' debbie was in disbelief.

'i know.' y/n smiled.

the two girls walked along the streets of queens and made it to y/n's house in 15 minutes. the girls sat down in front of the tv on the floor, awaiting for the new music video countdown to start, biscuits and scones in the oven. They had some oranges and were sucking on them when the first music video began playing. they sat and talked throughout the show and laughed over mindless jokes and stories.

in his queens apartment, peter parker was watching the music video countdown with his best friend ned, catching him up with everything he had talked about with y/n the previous night with his aunt may baking in the background. or at least trying to.
