"Aaaand here we are!" Bow exclaimed cheerfully, jumping out the Uber.
The other fast thanked the driver and followed the boy to the door of a light blue house in front of the beach: Mermista's.
"Adora, are all your friends rich ass princesses?" Catra said, not even trying to be discreet.
"Rude much?" Glimmer snapped, crossing her arms.
"Oook...let's head inside!" The blonde intervened, pushing the four of them toward the door.
They pushed the ring bell and someone soon opened.
"Guys! You are here! Come on in!"A weird hippy cheered, taking Adora's hand and dragging her in, immediately hugging her.
"Ehy, Perfuma, how are you?" The blonde asked, hugging her back.
"Never as good as you, She-ra! You glow!" She answered with the widest smile.
"Are you done? We are here too" Catra interrupted, cold hearted and with her arms crossed.
The hippy looked at her taken aback and displeased by the attitude.
"Yeah...ehm, sorry! I'm Perfuma! Hi Glim, hello Bow." She introduced herself, trying to maintain her joyfulness and hugging the couple.
"Fuma, this is my older brother, Dagger!" The boy said, pointing to the man next to him.
"Oh! It's such a pleasure! I love your aura!" She complimented, shaking his hand.
"Thank you! I like your Amazonian-like jewellery, very exact!" The man chirped back, making her smile wider.
"And she is Catra, my roommate." Adora added, linking arms with the brunette, who didn't flinch and just hold her tough posture.
"Oh! So you are that Catra! I'm sure we will get along eventually! I heard many beautiful things about you!" Perfuma cheered.
"Sure thing..." the girl deadpanned sarcastically.
The hippy tried to keep her smile, ignored the words and led them to the party.
As the friends proceeded, Adora slowed her pace to confront her roommate.
"What was that?" She asked.
"That hippy is annoying" The brunette answered bluntly.
"You can't be rude to them, they are important to me and could help you when I'm out during the week: most of them attend the BU." Adora whisper-shouted.
"I don't need friends, I'm here for the fish and the fireworks." Catra replied.
"Please...try a little bit...just for tonight!" The blonde begged, pouting and showing her puppy eyes.
"I don't make promises, princess" the brunette agreed with a scoff, freeing herself from the blondie and making her way to the party.
"You are the best!" Her roommate chirped happily.

The last famous words.

"What is that bitch doing here?!" Someone shouted as soon as the two girls walked out.
Their heads turned to the source and saw a very expressive Mermista, angrier then ever.
"Yo-you know each other?" Adora asked shocked and worried.
"You bet I know her! I found her in the bed with my ex!" She answered.
Catra narrowed her eyes and then flinched.
"Oh! Yeah! I remember now! You are the one who woke me up with the basket of water!" She exclaimed a little pissed off, but also amused by the whole situation.
"Well, what are you doing in my house?" Mermista asked.
"She is with me...well, not with me, she lives with me! Wait, that sounds worse - we are roommates! She is Catra." Adora said, stepping forward to shield the brunette with her body.
"No! You can't be serious!"
"That Catra?!"
"Oh dear!"
Some of the others gasped.
"Ehy, does everybody know me here?" The brunette suddenly asked to the group, whose members gazed at each other and then nodded.
"Ok, this is ridiculous! Water girl, I'm sorry that you got cheated on: if she told me she had someone, I was too drunk or high to remember...hell, I hardly remember her! Anyway, her loss. Can we get over with this now? Can someone give me a fucking glass of wine?!" The latina snapped, reaching out her hand untill the hippy got her the drink.
As the brunette sipped, everybody looked at her and the house owner silently.
"Fine, horde scum, but I want you six feet away from my partners or whatever." Mermista declared, making people release their breaths.
"Horde scum?" Catra repeated raising an eyebrow.
"Glimmer calls you that." The blue-haired girl exposed her.
"Mermista!" She yelled.
"Glimmer!" Adora called as well.
"She calls me Sparkles!" The pink-haired protested, making her friend scoff.
"Chill, princess, I kinda like it." The brunette said, putting her hand on the blonde's shoulders, who calmed down.
"Why can't you just stop using these nicknames? Both of you!" Adora asked.
"Take it as an inside jock, we are bonding." Catra said, winking to Glimmer, who huffed and rolled her eyes.
"Well, we are pleased to meet you, Catra." Someone said sweetly.
Two woman had stepped closer, as the others started to chat again.
"That was a good dramatic entrance." The other added with a chuckle.
"Ah ah ah...Catra, these are my bosses: Netossa and Spinnerella." Adora introduced them.
"Nice to meet you." The brunette said, shaking their hands.
"Hope you have heard also something good about us!" Spinnerella joked.
"Yeah, She-ra said she would have brought you to the bar, but never did." Netossa scolded her.
"Oh gosh, give me time! It's just her third week here!" Adora complained.
"Yeah, I'm getting used to the place and moved in just this week. But I totally want to come over, someone told me that you make the cloudiest cream on the cappuccino." Catra told them, slightly pulling hips against the blonde's side, who couldn't help but smile.
"We'll be waiting for you, then! The first is on Adora!" Netossa exclaimed, making her employee's smile fall dramatically.
"What?" She asked, as the wives laughed and walked away.
"I like them." The brunette grinned, while her roommate pouted.
"You better...I need food." Adora stated.
"You always crave food." She underlined, following the childhood friend to the buffet area.

There they found Mermista and Sea Hawk.
"Ehy guys." Adora tried to sound as cheerful as she could, while Catra just nodded to them.
"Oh, Ehy." The girl said, acknowledging their presence.

She might have been bothered by Catra, but that wasn't obvious, as Mermista was bothered by existence itself.

"A member of my crew! Isn't this party amazing? Nobody parties like my beloved princess of the seas!" Sea Hawk exclaimed, singing the last words, which made the blue-haired girl flinch and the blonde laugh.
"I said no shanties tonight!" The girl reminded him.
"Sure my love!" He accepted.
"Stop with the pet names or whatever" she deadpanned.
"Are they always like that?" Catra suddenly whispered into Adora's ear.
Her hot breath hit her skin and chills shook down her spine.
"Uh-ehm- yeah, always" the blonde tried her best not to stutter and the latina just nodded.
She picked a dish and filled it with starters, mimicked by Adora, then they headed to the rest of the best friend squad, who set on some external sofas with Dagger and Frosta.
And she also didn't like Catra a lot.

The party went on fine, especially as the alcol flowed in each glass.
They chatted, jocked, laughed and danced.
As the sky got darker, most of the group had warmed up to the brunette and she had turned easier to deal with.

But what really made them accept Catra was one of the last moments, when they were all sat around the fireplace and, as Bow, Dagger, Sea Hawk and Perfuma sang, a tipsy Adora curled up to a drunk Catra, who eventually hugged her, and the blonde peacefully fell asleep.
They all looked shocked at her, astonished by the relaxed expression on their friend's face.
"Is she- is she sleeping?" Glimmer whispered with wide open eyes, seating up from her cuddled position with her boyfriend.
"Did she take any gum?" Perfuma added in disbelief.
"What? She is just sleeping, like always." Catra answered full voice.
"Shhh!" The group fastly shushed her, as Adora grimaced and nuzzled more into the brunette's neck.
Her roommate undid her ponytail and started to stroke her locks, calming her.
The group was amazed.
"That's a miracle...I've never seen her relaxed!" Bow whisper-shouted.
The brunette shuggered it off and leaned her head on Adora's, as much tired.
The group exchanged a couple of looks and started to singing again, not wanting to break that spell.

They eventually had to back home and wake the cuties up, but Catra refused, so the blonde had to scoop her and walk her all the way to the Uber and then to her bed.
