Harley POV
The floor is cold.

All I know is that the floor is cold.

I can't think, I can't move, I can barely feel anything except the aforementioned cold floor, and I might be about to vomit, but I'm not sure.

After Lila Jane escaped (thank heavens) I had tried my best to put up a brutal fight against Liam and Christian, but it was two against one, and they were stronger. I managed to put up a decent fight for about three hours before my knees gave out. And now I was here. On this dumb cell floor.

It wasn't very clean.

As I began to blink back into focus, I attempted to analyze all the damage that fight had caused to myself. My ankle was most likely sprained, my eye was probably black, but I didn't have a mirror to check, and there was a long cut down my left forearm that was going to need stitches. I was in no place to escape.

And all to save some little girl I didn't know who hoped to save her cousin. And to clear my conscience. In my opinion, if I helped Lila Jane, then maybe what I did to Thomas, Amber, and Liam wouldn't affect me as negatively.

What the hell was I supposed to do now?!

As I pondered that, I heard voices. Quickly, I shut my eyes and collapsed back to the cold floor.

It was Liam and Christian.

"...escaped. Honestly, I didn't think the little girl had it in her," Christian said.

"Ah, I've learned not to ever underestimate the Duchannes'; any of them. Well... Except maybe that Macon boy... Even his unborn sister is more deadly than him."

"Well, we need all of them to complete the plan."

"The Duchannes' are a big family... Who do we really need?"

Christian sighed, as if Liam had asked this question before. Maybe he had.

"Ridley, her weird husband, Thalia, the Wayward, Lena, Macon, The unborn child, and ESPECIALLY Lila Jane."

"I still don't get it..."

I imagined Christian throwing up his hands. "You idiot! Fine. This is the last time I'm explaining."

I listened intently for more. This was it. The master plan.

"A hundred years ago today, Genevieve Duchannes cursed all Casters to be Claimed by their Sixteenth Moon. Lila Jane, with the help of her family, is going to be the one to hand the power of the curse over to us. Which will give us the power to do whatever we want with the Caster community, because if they don't obey us, they'll just be brutally ripped away from their families and friends."

"And if she doesn't hand over the curse to us?"

"Don't worry about that. She will hand over the power to us. Without even realizing. She just has to keep doing what she's doing. Because if she gives us the power of the curse, we will give her the one thing she wants more than anything."

"Thalia's freedom."

We were doomed. Lila Jane, while loving and kind, cared so deeply for her cousin, that there was no way she'd pass this up.

But maybe if she knew...

I didn't have a choice. I was involved in this now.

Whether I liked it or not.

I held my breath as they walked past my cell, then began plotting my escape. I would succeed. I must.

A/N: sorry for the short chapter :/ but you've come to expect that from me, haven't you? So leave opinions in the comments, I'm always curious as to what you think. :)
