12 Days Left...

Macon POV

"So, do you know where my sister is, or not?" I asked, frustrated.

Cassidy nodded. "Of course. Why would we lie, Macon?"

"Okay, then why haven't we found her yet?"

"Oh, we've found her. We know exactly where she is. We just have to get there now," Luke said.

"Where is she?"

Ava looked up from the partial map of the Tunnels she'd been studying. "Follow me."

We walked up a hill. "See that cottage?" she asked.

I nodded. "She's there?"

"Yes. Along with... about eight other Casters, but I can't tell who."

I grinned, taking off down the hill, knowing that the others were just behind me. When I reached the door, I pounded on it enthusiastically.

A brunette wearing a Beatles t-shirt answered. Her bright green eyes scanned me up and down as she yanked a hair tie off her wrist, tugging her hair back into a sloppy ponytail. "Hi. Who are you?"

"I'm Macon, and this is Luke, Cassidy, and Ava. We're, uh, looking for Lila Jane. Ma'am."

She nodded. "Yeah. She's here. I'm Lucy, by the way. Thaumaturge. And please don't call me ma'am. I'm nineteen, not fifty."

I nodded.

"Okay. You wanna come in?"

I nodded again, and she led us inside. She let us sit down at a kitchen table.

"I'll get Lila Jane."

She went up a flight of stairs.

"You excited?" Ava whispered to me. "I know you missed your sister."

I nodded. "Yeah. I-"

"Macon?"

I turned around. Standing in the doorway, her hair freshly washed, wearing a red tank top, cutoff jeans, and a pair of beat up converse, was my sister.

"L.J!"

She ran over to me, wrapping her arms around my neck. "What are you doing here?" she mumbled. "Tell me everything." She led me to the living room, and the others didn't follow.

"Okay, sis. So, I dunno how much you know, but here goes nothing. When you left, I went after you a few weeks later. I met Luke, Cassidy, and Ava about five minutes into the trip. I don't know if you've heard of them or not, but they're thus thing called the Light Caster Crew, and-"

She waved her hand in the air. "Yeah, yeah. I know all about that. Continue."

"Okay. So, they were tracking you, 'cause you're, like, the Highest Power or something. They led me to you. That's basically the whole story."

"Oh. And I might be in love with Ava just slightly," I muttered.

Her eyes widened excitedly, but she didn't press for details. "Alrighty. Well, my story's a bit of a doozie, so sit tight."

And then we talked. She told me her story, and then we talked about little things. This and that. How's Mom and Dad and the baby and have they decided on a name and how much longer until it's born? When are you guys planning on leaving do you have a plan and can we join you?

At some point, she decided to introduce me to the others.

"EVERYBODY GET YOUR BUTTS IN HERE!" she screamed.

Once everyone sat somewhere in the crowded living room, we began. I went first.

"Okay. So, I'm Macon, Lila Jane's brother. Uh, this is the existing Light Caster Crew - which I will be a part of after I turn sixteen. Which has been moved up, by the way. We'll be sixteen in twelve days. Anyways, yep. This is Luke Donovan. He's twenty-two, an Empath, and he's pretty hardcore. She's Cassidy Hathaway. Illusionist. She's eighteen, and, as Uncle Link would say, kinda Third Degree Burns hot." That earned me a slap from Cassidy. "And this beautiful lady is Ava Washington. She's sixteen, and she's the brains of our little operation. Um. Diviner."

"Alright then," Lila Jane said. "So, you met Lucy Klein, the Thaumaturge. And, obviously, you know Thalia, who's now a Cataclyst, and Anton, who's still unclaimed. Harley Stevenson is a- sorry. What are you, Harley?"

Harley swallowed. "Necromancer."

Lila Jane only paused a second before continuing. "Uh, Emma Thorne is seventeen, Zane Kingsley is eighteen, and Carsten Briggs is nineteen. They're all Naturals. And, uh, Dylan Black is sixteen, and he's an... Evanescent?"

Dylan nodded. Cassidy smiled.

"Dylan? Can I talk to you, honey?" she asked.
