"Mom, I'm home!" Lisa yelled as she walked into her house.
No response.
"Mom? Where are you?"
"Mom? Ok, this is not funny, come on out I know your hiding somewhere just waiting to jump out and scare me. I will let you know right now that it is a bad idea to do that. Mom!?!"
Now she was scared. Her mom liked to scare her but she never waited this long to jump out. She usually jumps out after the second call. If on some rare occasion she didn't, she would usually come out of hiding when Lisa warned her that it was a bad idea.
Lisa ran to the kitchen and searched the kitchen table. Usually her mom would leave her notes telling her where she is if she beat her home. Much to her surprise, there was no note. That was not the only wierd thing, dinner was not prepared. Everything was a mess, like she left while in the middle of cooking. Lisa searched the floor for any signs of another's footsteps. Lisa has very good eyes. She is able to see the footprints that police have to see using specific lights. What she saw caused get to have great confusion and more worry. There was only one set of fresh footprints and they showed no struggle.
She ran out the door and screamed on the top of her lungs,
"Mommy, where are you!?!?!"
She them proceeded to break down in tears.
Meanwhile on Garrett's side...
Garrett stepped through his front door and walked into the kitchen to get some food. Only then did he notice the house was dead silent, which was unusual for his house. He could usually hear his mom cleaning something and his dad talking to some client. His brothers were usually upstairs and practicing their instruments. Now he heard nothing.
"Mom? Dad? Matt? Cody? You guys home?" He asked as he silently pulled the gun from his holster and prepared it to fire.
There was no response so he snuck around careful not to make a noise. He heard a quite noise coming from upstairs, like tiny feet running across the wood floor. Much to his relief, it was his little brother Cody running towards him.
"Garrett! Your back! I was so scared!" Cody said.
"Hey lil' guy. Whats up? Why were you scared?"
Garrett bright his five year old brother close to him and wrapped him in a hug.
"Cody, there you are! I told you not to run off! Garrett! When did you get home!?!" Matt said surprised.
"A couple of minutes ago." Garrett looked up at his fifteen year old brother.
"Then you just barely missed them. MAYBE IF YOU HAD COME HOME SOONER THEN THEY WOULD STILL BE HERE!" Matt screamed at him.
Garrett looked at him surprised,
"What do you mean 'still be here'?"
"These two men came barged into our house. Mom and Dad told me to get Cody and go upstairs. We heard Mom scream as a gun went off outside. After that, all that was left was silence. We sat up in my room for about fifteen minutes until we heard the door open. Cody wiggled out of my grasp and ran down stairs. I followed after him and here we are now." Matt said sadly.
Garrett got up and walked to the door. He looked back at his brothers and motioned for then to stay where they were.
"What are you doing?" Matt called after him.
"I know somebody who can help. Just stay there and don't freak out." He said and walked out the door closing it behind him.
*Lisa's P.O.V*
Lisa heard a gunshot in the distance. Not just any gun shot though. This shot was fired from her Lt. General's hand gun. He was in trouble, he only fired his hand gun if he needed her help. She locked her sadness away as she unfolded her wings and took flight. It didn't take her very long to get to where the shot was fired, and when she did she found Lieutenant General Garrett standing outside, what she assumed was his house. There was something off about him though, there was a murderous look in his eye, one that she had never seen before in all her years working with him.
"You called?" she asked in a monotonous voice.
"Yes, this way please. I will tell you the details when we get inside." He started walking in and she followed soon after.
"Matt, Cody, come here." He called out into the room only lit by the fading sun outside.
Out came two boys that looked similar to Garrett. Golden brown hair that shines in the light, and dark brown eyes.
"Matt, Cody, this is my boss Lisa, and she is going to help us."
