A Highschool Secret

Chapter 11

   Lisa did her best to knock on Garrett's door. It was hard because her hands were full of bags. Luckily Garrett heard her soft knocking, due to his superhuman hearing, and opened the door for her.
   "You know you can just walk in right?"
   "Dude, I could barely knock, what made you think I would've been able to open the door?"
   He shrugged,
   "Fair enough."
   "I'm baaaack!" She yelled as she walked into their house.
   "Mommy!" Cody yelled as he ran up to her, which caused her to blush.
   "Mommy?" Matt whispered to Garrett.
   "He insists that he calls me that." Lisa answered Matt.
   "Anyway, I've got a lot of stuff in my hands, is there any place I can put them down?" She asked growing weary from holding all of the bags.
   "Huh? Oh, yes. Sorry about that. Here follow me."
   He led her into their kitchen and motioned her to place the bags on the table. She brought out the soda, candy, and the makings for a cake.
   "Alright, lets get started on making this cake!" Lisa exclaimed.
   "Yay! Cake!" Cody exclaimed happily.
   "Lisa, we're not going to bed anytime soon are we?" Matt asked her.
   "You can go to bed anytime. I'm not going to stop you. Hey Garrett, do you wanna stick in a movie? We can eat dinner then cake and candy while having a movie marathon."
   "That sounds like an awesome idea!"
*ding dong*
   "I'll get the door, its probably the pizza guy." Garrett said while walking away.
   "Dinner's here!" He yelled from the front entry after he closed the door.
Garrett entered the kitchen and set the pizza on the table while Matt got out four plates.
   While Garrett got the movie started and Lisa started the cake Matt and Cody happily dug into the pizza.
Lisa went and sat next to Garrett on the couch after putting the cake in the oven. They were watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It was a funny movie but Lisa wasn't in the mood to watch it, so she got up and sat at the kitchen table thinking about the day and her weird conversation with Haley.
*flashback*
   "So, what do you think of Garrett?" Haley asked out of the blue.
   "Huh? Who?" Lisa asked confused.
   "You know Garrett, Mr. Popular."
"Oh, ya, he's cool."
"Would you go out with him?"
"Why are you asking this all of a sudden?"
"I'm just curious. Sheesh, just answer the dang question."
"All right, all right, if he asked me out I would question why he asked me and probably say yes depending on his answer."
"Ok, thanks."
Lisa looked at her confused. Haley started to walk away and Lisa just stood there watching her until she disappeared into the crowd of kids.
*End Flashback*
Haley was acting very strange today, I wonder what was up. Lisa was pulled out of her thoughts by a hand bring placed upon her shoulder and being shaken lightly.
Her head snapped up and looked at the owner of the hand confused.
"Hey, you ok?" Garrett asked concerned.
"Huh? Oh, ya I'm fine, why do you ask?"
"Because the oven has been going off for a minute now and you haven't since anything about it."
Her face morphed from one of confusion, to one of complete shock. She ran to the oven turned off the timer and pulled the cake pans out bare handed. Garrett looked at her like she was crazy then they heard Matt say,
"Hey is something burning?"
"N-no!"Lisa yelped a she realized her mistake. Even though she may not be able to die that doesn't mean she doesn't feel pain.
Garrett gently grabbed her wrist and led her to the sink and turned in the cold water. He stood behind her and held her hands underneath the water and whispered in her ear,
"That was a stupid move."
She felt his breath on her ear and it made her shiver and blush madly.
He saw her reaction and wanted to play with her.
"Your super cute when you blush." He said still behind her causing her to blush even more.
He turned off the water and moved to that she could dry off her now healed hands. She pulled the cake out of their pans and set then on the cooling rack to finish cooling. She walked into the family room to where they were in the movie. They happened to be at her favorite part so she decided to watch it while the two layers of cake cooled. The rabbit part ended and she went to check on the cake. Out was cooled enough to frost so she frosted the to of one and placed the other on top of the frosted area. She then proceeded to frost the entire cake, cut the green part off of the strawberries, and arrange then on the cake. She pulled out her phone snapped a picture and yelled,
"Cake is ready!"
"Sweet!" Cody yelled in response as he burst through the doorway and waited patiently right next to Lisa, who was holding a knife and cutting the cake.
"Hey Cody, how about instead if watching me cut the cake and risk my knife slipping and hurting you, you go grab some plates to put the cake on."
"Ok!" He said cheerilly and ran off.
He came back with four plates in hand and the cake was served. They finished Monty Python and the Holy Grail, a good chunk of the cake, and about 1/3 of the soda.
"Alright we're going to bed, you two have fun." Matt said dragging Cody away.
"Good night." Garrett and Lisa chorused.
"Well now that the little ones are gone wanna watch a horror movie?" Garrett asked.
"Sure, don't get mad at me if I crawl in your bed at night cause I'm scared." She said back.
He pulled out Insidious and The Haunting in Connecticut and showed them to her.
"Which one?"
"Hmm, The Haunting in Connecticut."
"All right." He said a he popped in the movie.
Before the movie started she got up and grabbed a soda to drink during the movie. Within the first five minutes Lisa was in fetal position, in twenty she had her back turned away from the screen, still in fetal position. Ten minutes late she was curled up next to Garrett starting at his black shirt.
"Do you wanna stop the movie? We can watch something else I don't mind." He said looking at her and pulling her into his lap.
"No, its fine." She replied into his shirt.
She had layed her head in the crook of his neck. Not even ten minutes later, she was out like a light. The movie ended and Garrett gently shook her to see if she would wake. When she didn't, he picked her bridal style and walked into his room. He set her on his bed and climbed in after, and put his arm protectively around her waist.
