Jungkook's eyes become transfixed on the screen before him, unblinking.
Repeats of shitty sitcoms flood the dark room with colour, despite the greyness that had lulled over his day.
With grey joggers and a loose black t-shirt adorning his curled up body, it's safe to say that he hadn't left the sofa once since his arrival back from Aera's funeral.
His mind had become clogged up from overthinking about everything and absolutely nothing.
"Watching too much TV is bad for your eyes you know." Jungkook doesn't batter an eyelid upon Taehyung's entrance, concerning him further.
With a heavy sigh, he reaches for the TV remote before pressing the 'off' button.
The room falls pitch black, until Taehyung flips the light switch.
"What really happened, J?" Taehyung places a hand on his hip, determined to find out the truth.
He had once believed Jungkook's claims that Aera was 'attacked by a group of rowdy girls' and that 'shit like that happens', but on later thought, he concluded it to be utter bullshit.
Jungkook's eyes linger on the blank screen in front of him for a little longer before trailing up to meet Taehyung's.
He picks at his cuticles, nervous.
After all, he hated being put on the spot like this.
"I told you—"
"It was that bitch of an assassin, wasn't it?" Taehyung cuts Jungkook's sentence in half, frustration gripping his tone.
Jungkook's silence answers his question for him, earning a scoff to pass his hearty lips.
Jungkook diverts his attention to his bristly nails while Taehyung runs a hand through his honey locks.
"How many kills is it going to take until your face ends up on the front of the local newspaper, huh?" Taehyung's voice grows louder while Jungkook grows quieter.
"I mean, seriously, is all of this worth the risk of wounding up dead?" Jungkook's body tenses up before his ability to stay calm snaps in half.
"Are you done with this TED talk bullshit?" Jungkook glares up at Taehyung, daggers firing out of his eyeballs.
"I'm not going to stop until I find her." Jungkook finds the confidence to approach a blank faced Taehyung, whom remains taken aback by his sudden change in tone.
"Even if I get held at fucking gun point, and my face really does end up on the front page of the local newspaper . . . got it?" Jungkook's words are laced with venom, only placing Taehyung further on edge as his heart begins to beat louder than he can think.
"You don't mean that." Taehyung searches Jungkook's eyes but all that glares back at him are two ebony pools, void of any visible emotion.
"We need security, Jungkook, protection, and you know it." Taehyung swallows hard as he thinks over where Jungkook's ambition could lead them.
"You're scared of a 5"5 brat with a mouth as her best weapon?" A scoff passes Jungkook's lips as he brushes off Taehyung's words, arms now crossed over his chest in a firm grip.
Just as Taehyung opens his mouth to bark back, the phone rings, echoing throughout the whole of their apartment to act as an ice cooler for their heated conversation.
"I'll get that." Taehyung's left feeling empty once Jungkook begins to walk away and out of the room.
"Besides, it's probably more important than this conversation."
