"You told Jungkook about my past?!" Areum's eyes bulge out of their sockets as she repeats the words Jimin had just said so casually.

"Relax, darling. Given the trick I had pulled up my sleeve, he won't even make it to Daerim prison." A smirk grows on Jimin's lips while he runs his sharp tongue along the poisonous flesh.

He winks, proud as he replays his work over in his head from a few nights prior.

"Jimin . . . what did you do?" Half curious and half anxious, Areum takes a step towards him, re-closing the space she'd just created.

She was now close to being back in his arms, bodies ghosting against each other.

"Well, since you're not allowed to have visitors on site, I knew he'd probably minimise any trace that I'd been there by switching off the CCTV cameras. That way, all I had to do was switch them back on."

"How'd you manage that with him in the fucking room?" Areum's brows knit together when Jimin lets out a small chuckle, clearly amused by her enquiry.

"It's not rocket science, sweetheart. I simply distracted him. Whether it was by making him need to fetch more files or leave the room in order to re-gain his sanity, I discovered my ways and harboured them to my advantage." A smug expression clings to Jimin's features and Areum finds herself wondering how he could say these things so casually.

It's as if he bled intelligence and assertiveness.

She was both astonished and confused, everything was confusing her right now and with good fucking reason considering the draining week she'd had.

"I don't know what to say . . ." Areum can feel his burning gaze on her cheeks, waiting for her to blurt something else out but the words refuse to leave her mouth.

It was one of the first times since she could remember that she'd been lost for words.

Whether that was Jimin's influence or the fact that she was exhausted to death, who knows.

"Well that's a first. Usually, I have to shut you up myself." Jimin takes the opportunity to run his thumb over Areum's parted lips as she blinks innocently.

"I feel sleepy." Is all Areum can muster before walking away, not in the mood for Jimin's kinky jokes.

Now wasn't the time and it may never be again.

"If you say so, baby." Jimin smirks once more before finding his designated seat on Areum's couch.

He finds himself replaying his encounter with Areum's current infatuation, feeling a buzz ring in his stale heart at the deemed outcome of this situation and the consequences he was bound to face.

"It looks like you can say bye bye to the intelligence service, Jungkook."

SCENE CHANGE

"What, you really thought we wouldn't find out?" Namjoon spits his words out from across the room, pure fury laced in his words followed by a dash of poison.

"I was just doing my fucking job, okay?" Jungkook growls back, brows deeply furrowed.

"Just doing your job?" Namjoon scoffs.

Rarely did he raise his voice but when it was a situation which concerned his security and career, he could go ballistic if irked enough and right now, Jungkook was testing that pent-up patience.

"You conducted an interview with an outsider on the premises and to make matters worse, you switched off the fucking security cameras.

Was that not a big enough wake up call to suggest maybe you shouldn't be doing it in the first place?"

"Look—"

"I think you're forgetting who's actually in charge here. I'm your boss, not the other way around. Got it?"

Silence tumbles into the room as the two stand apart, minds flowing with information and anger.

Their gazes pierce into one another's, a battle of male dominance and crushed egos.

"I got more information, Namjoon. Her real name is—"

"Do you seriously expect to believe anything that comes out of your mouth? I was kind enough to give you another chance after the last stunt you pulled simply because of how good you are at your job and this is how you repay me?"

"I've changed, I have . . ." Namjoon simply shakes his head, wanting no part in Jungkook's lies. He places the pads of his fingers to his temple in an attempt to smooth out the built-up tension.

"Look, you need to harbour this obsession you seem to have with female assassins before matters get out of fucking hand. Okay?"

"Obsession? I'm trying to catch the bitch not fuck her!" Jungkook glares at the man on fire before him while Namjoon simply raises his hand as a way of stopping his colleague from uttering another word.

"Language, Mr. Jeon." Namjoon momentarily shuts his eyes as Jungkook scoffs before rolling his own.

"You're dismissed."

"What—"

"You're fucking fired if that makes it any easier for you."
