The car journey to wherever the fuck Jungkook had decided to take Areum was silent, deathly if you will.
Judging by his foul mood, he may as well have been driving to her grave.
Who knows, maybe burying people alive was his secret hobby.
He hadn't looked at her once.
Not even a side glance was shot her way and as much as Areum hated to admit it, that saddened her.
More than she thought something so minuscule ever would.
Now, standing outside 'Taehyung's', that sadness soon rolls itself into a slimy smirk.
Jungkook wouldn't have taken her here if he knew what had happened the very first time she stepped foot into this place, surely not.
It would simply anger him too much, right?
That, therefore leaves plenty of room for tugging and toying with his already-frazzled brain.
"My God, does this place bring back memories." Areum exhales sharply, gazing up at the sign with mischief swimming amongst her emerald orbs, not that it goes unnoticed by a now-perturbed Jungkook.
He also happens to notice the reflection of the moonlight creating a glass effect over the outside layer of her eyes, kind of acting like a protection barrier.
From what?
He wasn't so sure.
All he could think about was how much of a real shame it was that such a pretty face like hers could be such a poisonous creature beneath the surface.
She was a real waste of a perfect demeanour.
"Yeah? What memories?" Jungkook turns to face her, those last words playing on the back of his mind like a game of fucking ping pong.
It's not as if he gives two shits about the memories in her mind but since a small part of them had involved his best friend's bar, it would only seem fair to say that he has a right to be curious or rather, cautious.
"They're for my heart to know only, Jeon." Areum watches with satisfaction as Jungkook's brows furrow.
She simply smiles before leading the way through the quirky doors to Taehyung's bar.
Jungkook's fucking best friend.
It's pretty ironic, right?
Jungkook simply shakes his head as a deep scoff passes his lips.
"Motherfucker."
"Hey, I heard that."
"Good." Jungkook smirks, having been given the sudden urge to provoke the little brat even more.
He wanted to explore just how far he could push her until the balance in her world tipped.
After all, a woman can only be pushed so far, and Areum?
Yeah, she seemed like she was right on the fucking edge of falling into the deepest state of oblivion.
Meanwhile, from a few feet in front, Areum gives out a generous roll of the eyes, unprepared to give Jungkook the reaction she knew he was looking for.
She could practically smell the desperation dripping off his delicious skin.
Upon reaching the bar, Areum finds herself perching on the stall furthest away from the small crowd which had just settled inside.
It was always quiet here, nostalgic looking.
It certainly left a lot of room for being able to hear yourself think when, just outside the front doors, it was near impossible to do so without wanting to rip your own hair out.
That's Seoul's night life for you.
"One dirty martini please."
"Make that two." Jungkook cuts in as Areum finishes speaking to the bartender.
He gives a curt nod before disappearing to the other side of the bar.
"I didn't take you for a martini kind of man." A smirk pulls at Areum's glossed lips as Jungkook claims the seat beside her, cold eyes never leaving hers.
"Quit the small talk, brat." At this, Areum can't help but laugh, eyes piercing through the breaking follicles of Jungkook's skin.
He was deteriorating emotionally, she could tell.
"What d'you wanna know, Kook—?"
"Come with me." Jungkook wastes no time in hooking his hand securely around Areum's much smaller wrist so the pair were locked in place.
Adrenaline rushes through her veins, along with the energy from his skin on hers.
It was electric, an electric touch which just so happened to ignite her blackened soul.
"Where are you taking me?"
"Shut up, slut."
"Excuse me sir, your drinks." The nonchalant sound of the bartender stops the two in their tracks as he slides the martini's they asked for over the bar top.
Areum watches as his eyes flicker from Jungkook's grip around her wrist back up to meet her gaze, his expression beginning to behold a worried undertone.
It was as if he was saying 'you sure you know this guy?'
"Oh, how could we forget." Jungkook smiles, cheerily but it was obvious to anyone that it was just a façade.
It didn't take a genius to know that.
The bartender breaks out a nervous laugh before slowly walking away into the depths of his own despair.
Areum watches as Jungkook grabs the glass full of goodness before necking back the whole of its contents.
He gives Areum's wrist a gentle squeeze before slamming the glass back down onto the surface and sure enough, it's completely empty.
Just as he begins to walk off with a puzzled Areum still attached to his body, she scoops up her martini before being dragged close behind.
It felt as if the walk would last forever.
Red tunnels upon red tunnels encase Areum's vision, and just as she recons they're coming to an end, another comes into sight.
It felt as if they'd been walking for the whole of fucking eternity, like a hamster on a treadmill.
That's until, finally, Jungkook comes to a halt.
He soon turns around to face her and doesn't look the least bit happy to be doing so.
